| Seems other clubs don't have the same problems with imports.
Anyone else wondering why we chose Sims over Cuthbertson for example?

| I saw the interview with Cuthbertson on SkySport's before the Leed's and Sain'ts game, and he has family from Warrington and he came across as a nice bloke. He's been on fire at Leeds this year!

Cuthbertson was something of a journeman in the nrl, as was Sims to a point, but I think Smith brought him in As he was trying to replace some of the Morley factor, in terms of lost aggreession last year, galvanize our new pacl and try bring on the likes of Evans and England.
That's how I saw it, anyway

Agreed FMC,
"Saw" being a key word.
He offers nothing more than Waterhouse is size and presence but seemingly lacking in House's attributes.
When I heard about the rumours that he was to be a Wire it was said that Sims was a direct replacement for House, even though Sims played most of his rugby as a front rower.

| Perhaps he has the potential as he came with the hype...
But in my defence md I said he offers nothing more than House and not that he cannot.

| In his defense he is our 3rd highest in number of carries, beaten only by Hill and westwood.... his effort cant be brought into question..... he may not be setting your world alight, but when we are under the cosh, he is taking the ball in and doing the hard yards.
he has probably run the ball in more in half a season than waterhouse did in his whole time with us.
i know you seem hell bent on knocking him at every opportunity, but he hasnt been that bad.... i dont know what you were expecting from him.... he is a bit of an NRL journeyman at the back end of his career if the truth be known... dont knock him for lack of effort.. the guy is trying... if you think he isnt up to scratch, blame the recruitment, not the player here.

| We have signed a halfback. I don't know who, but I know it isn't cooper Cronk or James Maloney.
Believe me or not I'm not really fussed. I don't care about getting a reputation as 'in the know' because usually I'm not, but just posting it for anyone who is interested.

| come on rd...that pudding/coward waterhouse with his game changing brace in the play off semi and his cracking performance at wembley...who was badly missed in the grand final. he is nowhere near our current standard of player. Hope Sims gets to prove he's a big game player...doubt it will be this season though.Waterhouse also had rugby brains which we're sadly lacking at the minute.

I repeat Ratty
I said he (Sims) offers no more than Waterhouse.
If offered Waterhouse in exchange for Sims I'd take it hands down.
I wasn't Houses biggest fan either!
Md stats can be moulded anyway to to prove a point.
It's very likely that Sims has played more minutes of rugby than all the other forwards and a similar amount to Benny and Hilly.
In which case his 3rd ranking in reflection of his long stint is lowest. You have done the maths for me already by pointing out he is behind the only two other ever presents in the team.

It can't be Tim Smith (as someone suggested) as he is now cup tied.

| Would you be excited or disapointed with Tim Smith? For me he doesnt really set the world ablaze, id prefer to use Patton IMO. I just think his stint at Salford was average.

I note your caveats, but do you know if we're talking for the rest of this season or for next?

| My guess is that GOB was kept for this season after being on his way to Bradford for a reason and I'm pretty sure it wasn't becasue of a 7 day turn around in form!?

| I'm fairly certain its for next season.
Whoever it is I would be inclined to play them alongside Patton and those two build a partnership, and myler and obrien can get a new challenge elsewhere.
