Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| I studied marketing and economics at college and I still admit that SM knows far more about marketing that I ever will. SM comments that we are still a long way off, contradict some reports Ive heard that its going to be a bit of a night. I expect South to be sold out, West to be virtually sold out and any place within the capacity will be in the seats (like many a game at the HJ).
In simple terms, if we sold one average tickets at £20 to sell out the whole game = £300,000 revenue (working on 15k). At £25 we only need to sell 12k tickets for the same revenue. The club wont make any more on food and drink from the extra attendance as the catering is run by outside contractors and they would have to pay for additional staffing and emergency service.
We need to ask if this is a revenue generating exercise of if its a fan numbers exercise. Bradford went down the latter route and looked what happened to them.
Said it once, said it many time, I trust SMs (and the boards) judgement on the best way to market a particular game for maximum returns than any "Ive got an idea" internet poster

This just sums up how dangerous mis-information can be. There are a small number of seats in prime places in the North stand at £45. I really can't see why people are moaning, every other seat/ticket is at a reasonable price.

| Get your hands in your pocket and show the lads your support! Let's be honest about this its not everyday we get the opportunity to challenge a top NRL team.
It's a one off game for the club to earn some extra money that at the end of the day will probably get reinvested into the team and contribute to future success on the pitch.
My prediction: Wire 22 - 18 St George
Come on the wire!

| I went to buy myself a single ticket in the East today & there wasn't much availability I wanted towards the back behind the sticks but all that was available was in the corners & that's for a single ticket.
I'm going for a number of reasons, its a game of top quality RL (lets face it all we've had to watch since October is Wendy Ball). I think it will be a great game and atmosphere, I'll be watching Benji Marshall play, to thank Mr Moran for his belief & investment in getting this game on.
But my main reason is I love watching the Wire.
All this for £30......................Bargain

That's a good enough reason for me FB.
I'll be buying my ticket on Monday now.

Finally!
It might be a "glorified friendly" but it's a chance to show that we are a serious force on to test ourselves against the Aussies.
O/T - I also noticed on Ladbrokes that we've now moved to favourites for the GF and 2nd favourites for the LLS!

| Pre season and these two opening games our defense looks pretty stingy, long may it continue.

When I looked at tickets online, I only spotted £45 adult tickets in the north. Must have missed the cheaper ones. Yeah the rest of the prices are fine. I can't wait for it! Be a good test.

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| I think the club needs to publicise the prices better. I was under the impression that they were £45 in the North and £22.50 in the South, and as a result was going to watch it on the telly, as it is an exhibition match. however if you look on the official club website you will see other tiers of pricing, with categories such as young adults and kids at very reasonable prices.
So I got my tickets for the south and am building a bit more enthusiasm for the match now.

| I have followed this site for years, rarely ever post. I think the response to this game and many of the posts regarding the same demonstrate everything that is wrong with the game generally. How can anyone NOT want this to happen? Yes, it means nothing in terms of a competition or trophy, but it is a chance to play a leading NRL side, at our club with our team. Will we will be showcasing our club in front of what will surely be a massive TV audience and hopefully a pretty strong attendance at the ground. I get that not everyone can afford to go all games, having paid for season tickets, shirts etc, but for heaven sake, wind the negativity in. I absolutely applaud the club for staging this and think the tickets are reasonably priced for what the event is and what the outlay has been for the club to bring the Dragons over. Ultimately, it is a commercial enterprise designed to improve the profile of the club. With our recent CEO recruitment, we are are only going one direction. People are either in, or they are not.

Seconded. This is a very rare occasion and should be a very special night. We WILL let the club down if it's not a full house. I will be making my usual 280 mile round-trip to be there and I cannot see why any genuine Warrington fan could possibly stay away.

| The club have promoted the prices just fine. People just saw what they wanted to see, the £45 tickets, and used it as an excuse not to bother.
Sorry but it's the truth!
