Difficult dilemma we have here. Nicotine is a fairly addictive drug. But then so is alcohol and society currently is more accepting of this than nicotine. So if you ban advertisement of one, you probably have to do the same with the other.

My immediate response to nicotine advertisement would undoubtedly be 'ban it', but thinking about it logically, drunks cause a large number of social problems, and liver disease from alcohol abuse is a killer. So you could argue that between the two, alcohol poses more problems than nicotine.

Although it doesn't bother me that much, it seems to be bothering a lot of fans and this will surely affect attendance's, the clubs gotta look at reversing this. Or at least re-issuing the ban

I think the clubs reasoning is "a lot of people smoke, this is a 'disputed' healthier option and they're willing to pay. Why not?"
