Excellent post, more of the same please. It's a well known fact that Warrington and the Liverpool area are wonderful .

Implying I am from or live in Liverpool.
I admit my post was a gross generalisation and I retract it, but having spent quite a lot of time in Yorkshire, I know where I prefer.

| I'm not arguing about the homophobic comments being wrong. What I don't get, is how nobody batters an eyelid about somebody calling someone else for being fat, small, ginger etc.. I bet Rob Burrow has been called called a little s**t, chris riley called a ginger p***k and craig huby called a fat b*****d at some point and nothing has been said.
They're all forms of discrimination and I'm sure there's a 'phobia word associated with each of these. How are these anymore acceptable than making fun of someone's sexuality?
I'm pretty small and have took a proper ribbing for it throughout my life. It doesn't bother me at all but I could see how it could get to someone who is a bit less thick skinned and they would take offence to comments about their size.
Cheers
Chris

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| I know somebody who has done some lip reading and she has said that ZH COULD have said "puff". She says it is a single syllabul word with a sharp, non protracted start (indicating "p", "b" but not a "prrrrrr" start. She also said that simply from the video she would NOT guarantee what he said.
Many people have argued that these are simply words and you hear far more coming from the terraces especially in the direction of the referee. (remember Castlefords fine for not taking action when Gareth Thomas was abused........"they were only words"icon_wink.gif
However IF the alleged word was used by ZH its IS different for 2 main reasons. One is the obvious one that he has previous for this kind of alleged incident and should have learnt. The second if the fact that as a professional player, at a professional club, both are (or at least should be) fully committed to the RFLs respect policy.
Whilst I can understand what the local constabulary might not take any action for any "hate crime" the RFL MUST take action if it to uphold the merits of its own policy.

| I am sure that any homosexuals either playing or otherwise associated with rugby league are of sterner stuff than the classic puff description of school boy titterology & are quite comfortable generally among their peers & the spectators on the terraces. Perhaps Hardaker's problem is more one of immaturity than malice.

| He is really a lovely human being:
Hardaker took to Twitter to defend himself, claiming the allegations were "a load of rubbish".
"Well this is the last straw for me," he tweeted. "Sick of the crap that's coming out about me, nobody knows anything so why would you comment in it.
"And the fact that people are saying I've said a homopohobic comment or that I'm homophobic is a load of rubbish!! I've had ENOUGH.
"People don't know the consequences this has on myself and my family and it's p*****g me right off!!!
"So there...... You can write all you want you JOURNALISTS.!! Waste of breath the lot if you."
Wow. I would throw the book at this individual as he is making the whole game look backward. Makes you wonder what happened that time he was sent home from the England camp.

Yes you're right, I remember the ginger underground movement because being outwardly ginger was punished by death.
All the fat people marching on London to get equal rights so that they could share pizza with other fat people.
Short pride.
No, you're right

| ""for those that think the game has gone soft close your eyes and picture dress Drummond doing that. ..... no you can't can you. ..""
I remember Dessie calling Martin Offiah a racist name while lining up opposite him at a scrum at Wilderspool. He called him a "coloured barstool" or this is what it sounded like.
As far as Hardaker, if he called him a puff, the precident has already been set, regardless of what we think the league will throw the book at him. If he didnt say anything and just blew a kiss, case closed no further action.

Maybe Drummond was being ironic?
I have to say Hardaker is like a Beano bully, surprised he also doesn't call people 'softie' 'sissy' and 'pansy'. About his level I suppose.
