| Quote: sally cinnamon "You get it the other way too, players being thought of being a good signing because someone else is good
We should sign X player from the championship, because look how well Danny Brough and Liam Finn did
We should put some 16 year old kid from the Academy in the first team, because if you're good enough you're old enough, just look at Alex Murphy at that age
This winger can't catch a cold and can't tackle a hot dinner, but that doesn't matter, Offiah and Bevan weren't in the team for their defence and look how many tries they scored'"
We also did it with Hill..... one good signing and all of a sudden championship props were the solution to everyone's problems... Then a few people were taken aback when England wasnt another Hill.

| Although he has far from impressed me in his inaugural year (even the Catalans Game that TS conceded was his best performance yet, didn't set the RL world alight)I still think Roy needs to be given time to bed in to the team.
As a fan, I demand 100% week in week out and a victory each and every time they take to the field, but I know I won't get that EVERY time. I still place all the players on the highest of pedestals. But I know that nobody's perfect.
I think I've documented it elsewhere on this forum site ages ago that Trent Waterhouse did nothing but disappoint me when he first arrived because he didn't smash everyone in sight and turn out to be the wrecking ball I wanted him to be. He turned out okay but needed time to settle (I am aware he has had a turn of form of late, but I think he's ready for the off)
The same was true of Matt King... and I am only citing players of recent times (my memory is not what it used to be)
Your point about England reigns true too, but he has improved and can only look to do better.

Amongst many, one thing that Roy certainly hasn't got is time.
On the other hand England has improved over the course of this season, as he has shown a bit of commitment and a will to do well. I have no idea how good he will turn out, but, unlike Roy he does have a bit of time on his hands and presumably a bit less of 'our' cash in his pockets.

| If true, a really exciting signing and just what we need - a big impact, defender dispersal forward. Agree with the above that he could do a solomona type job for us.

Solomona and Fui Fui are so different you can not compare them. Fui Fui is a straight tough hard forward he will not pass a ball all season. Solomona was a ball playing forward who could drive the ball in and flick the ball out from impossible positions. The only similarity is where they are from (the southern hemisphere)

May well be a big favourite, but at the moment struggles to make the 17 in a woeful Parramatta team

| I should have made the comparison clearer Marshman777-
1) both of vintage age and if not over used, could do a job.
2) solomona was a fantastic driver of the ball as well and his magical handling was executed whilst knocking off and attracting many forwards. Or else he would be a halfback?!

| I don't thin the eels have been that bad considering they had the spoon for the last 2 year's . I have watched almost every game of theirs. They suffered when Nathan Peats was ruled out for the season. FFMM is not the player he was a couple of years ago though. Considering the eels have been without Mossop all year I am surprised he has not been a regular.
Brad arthur is big on defence (you couldn't tell if you saw the game against the Knights last week) and I don't think fui offers as much in that department as others.
he is OK but we just need to be wary about expecting him to bust the line with every drive. I have not seen a tackle bust from him all year. He will still provide more than Wood, England and Asotasi though.
