Heard rumours for a while we were signing an Aussie after the World Cup and also been told by different people we are way under the full cap.

Wouldn't any new signing be involved in the pre-season training? I've heard that TS is happy with what we have and wasn't looking to bring in anyone else.

to be fair Friday the 30th was the day after the Herald sun ran the story that Bowen had announce his retirement from the Cowboys and was thinking whether to take up the 12month Wigan offer or work behind the scenes at the cowboys so it wasn't really a scoop.
that said I do hope there is the smallest chance there is truth in this nonsense of signing a player a couple of weeks before the season starts.........

Probably relates to Brad Fittler turning out for us in training v Roosters as he is playing in the 9's for them.......... |

Think about it seriously, we have all the pictures of them training with all these NRL teams, practicing moves and combinations, no sign of anyone different to then chuck someone in last minute in the most key position of all?

I'm lead to believe we are in discussions with an NRL stand off, but it is not for the 2014 season, but the 2015. Will effectively replace Michael Monaghan for quota/salary.
I can't quite work out a stand off that will come from NRL to Super League, well, one of any pedigree anyway. So I have put it in the bull pile until I hear something official, but make your own opinion.

Apparently Wakefield are hoping to sign a former schoolboy international stand off from Penrith (sportinglife) so we might be sniffing round as well. Can't see why we would need another stand off who may be no better than what we have coming through the ranks.
