Totally agree with this post.

It does make you wonder if we are being asked to swallow once more the old hype about the franchise system with an elite group erasing old boundaries to attract support from larger catchment areas & almost certainly at the expense of existing smaller clubs. It might work for a while but if a split between competitions does occur then i can imagine the up & coming talent would soon dry up & unless SL clubs could buy in from abroad ,where there also seems to be a player shortage, then the new venture would die on its feet. Where would that leave the sport then with major shareholders cashing in their chips & leaving the sport insolvent ? I would think the main driving force behind the idea is fuelled by personal ambitions & not necessarily for the game which would no doubt have to increase revenue in a time when gates are being affected by a recession.
