May be Warrington is in a strong position regarding employment & work commitments are the reason a lot people can't make the games ....just a thought .

We need the capacity increasing. No margin, no growth.
Nothing wrong with the product.
Sky schedules can have some small effect, offset by their compensation for viewing rights.

Not viable given our current average attendances, would just be spending money for the sake of it

Surely more disposable income per capita woul make it easier to attract fans?

IIRC leeds wigan and saints all made the switch to friday night games, as sky were changing their fixtures on a regular basis, i'm pretty sure it was said that saints did it aswell as it was better for their corporate hospitality and that , as it was causing them a problem changing dates for that, plus it was deemed that people like to wine and dine people after work on a friday, rather than on a sunday.

I think good old andy has said in the past, we dont' seem to have a problem with that aspect of it, the corporates seem to do quite well on a sunday here.

Yes i agree, but if people are working when games are on then that won't happen & given that many working people are affected by working umpteen part time shifts to make up a working week ,being available to watch a game is not always possible. It doesn't help when games are now being spread over a possible one day from 5 of being played (Thursday/Monday) at short notice & usually to suit sky ,which stops working people from being able to change shifts at short notice.

All in all sky are not interested in the least what the gates are at particular games & no doubt live in hope that fans will give up altogether on live games & invest in sky sports packages. Once the game has died out altogether sky will just find another sport to exploit.

A reduction in match day ticket prices might help, £14 for junior ticket. I have two kids so that's £28 plus if go in west,I need to buy myself a ticket that's £24. £52 just on tickets then the awful food and drinks are over priced. To take a family of 4 to the hj I could go and spend the day at Chester zoo

It's £14 to get in for kids at Chester Zoo too, if only they reduced their prices, more people would go and see the animals... except when its high season, like now, its £15.50 and a family of four is £65. You should go every other weekend.

What do you consider short noitice? Haven't the games that have been changed given about 4-5 weeks in advance? But i agree spreading games across the week may make a difference, but some who can't go will be able to make it too, just makes considering a season ticket a more considered purchase.

Well that was total toss.

The point I was making is for what is on offer at the hj. I can get better value for money else where. It's meant to be family game, but the club aren't making it affordable for family's. After you take into account cup tickets then play off tickets, following Wire can be a dear old affair.

If I wanted to see animals in their natural habitat, I would sit in the golden square on a Saturday afternoon.

I just wish the RFL & more pertinently Sky would stop moving fixtures around so much. As a shift worker at the start of the season I plan my Leave & shift swaps around the fixture list ensuring that I am off Sunday afternoons & Friday evenings.

But when Sky start changing games to Monday & Thursday nights I done for. I wont be getting a Season ticket next year because when the Club or Sky move a fixture I cant change my shifts at work at short notice. I will of course be going to every single game that I can, but I expect to miss around 5 games due to Sky moving games.

If any of our Play Off games are on the Thursday night which Sky have touted then I wont be able to see a single play off game because earlier in the year I swapped all my shifts to ensure that I am off on the Friday & Saturday evenings. icon_sad.gif

I think part of it also comes down to the fact that food and drink in the stadium now costs the same as it does at Old Trafford. How can that be justified in a working class sport?

When we get towards the sharp end of the season it's all to easy for sky to change fixtures at short notice to suit their viewing figures & i am sure it is harder to swap shifts or change days off at the peak of the holiday season , which just happens to coincide with the business end of the rugby season.
Since i finished work i have no problem ,but with the fixture situation as it is now i would have missed a few games had i still been working.
