| I thought the OP was pretty funny actually  , I guess some people cant take a joke. I'm also wanting to know what part of Smiths assesment was smug? thought he was pretty gracious considering he was obviously hurting. Your fans were superb yesterday, especially the couple that we ended up doing rounds with in the city centre, a great bunch. Good luck for the rest of the season. |

You're talking shiite man. Smithy has always been gracious in victory or defeat. See him with Brian Mac at the end of the GF last year? True gentleman. I am not going to be magnanimous about this. The final everyone wanted to see was Warrington v Wigan. The RFL may as well put the red and white ribbons on the cup right now.

I am amazed by anyone thinking Tony Smith is arrogant. I've always found him to be very generous and respectful to any opposition and very fair in his assessment of games - English football managers could learn a hell of a lot from him in conducting themeslves. The Saturday before last he was in the club shop while I was in there with my son and we approached him to have a photo taken. He couldn't have been more pleasant and obliging, and the way he was speaking to others in the club shop showed him to be a very decent individual indeed.

Not really, I wanted, and many more Wigan fans, to meet Warrington in the final.
You've certainly had the edge over us for a few years now but i think it would of been a classic final (with a Wigan win by the way) and there would of been no better way to end that hoodoo. |

Think that's the bit that UTB missed - god forbid I ever go to a club where's he's the compare (and scarily, I do have to work in Hessle once a month)...... as for sour grapes - lighten up .... everyone in that ground, no matter who they support, saw Wire make a mess of simple ball retention under pressure and making the final 10 yards too many times. And Hull said "Gift Horse? Ta very much" and off they go to Wembley ....
I sincerely hope they enjoy it, but, as at the Etihad, some of them need to lighten up and enjoy the good times.
