Quote: Fatbelly "If we were to play Hull 10 times then we would beat them 7 times, they would beat us twice and we would draw one game.
Hull are a good team & have the ability & players to beat us & win the Cup.
That said if I had to bet on the game I would choose Wire all day long. Hull will bring a lot of fans to the game and the atmosphere will be great.'"
Pretty good analysis there. Out of the last 10 games we've played Hull, we have indeed won 7, lost 2 and drawn 1.

Interesting to see that when Shaun McRae was Hull coach, we played them 11 times, we won 2 and they won 9.
I think Hull could win this one. They are an improving side although not there yet and still have a few holes. I think if we get a decent lead on them, they will not come back from behind to beat us, we will be clinical and finish them off. But if we open the door to them and they have a lead at all in the second half they will drive themselves to Wembley.

Not a chance. Wigan v Leeds on a Saturday at the HJ didn't sell out in 2011 and this will come nowhere near. If nothing else, rightly or wrongly the cup novelty has worn off for a lot of fans here.

| Is it because of a lack of RFL marketing, some of the fans might not know there's a cup semi on and who is playing so they won't buy tickets?

what do you class as a decent lead these days? 10 points?
seriously if we keep the scores close going into the last quarter we have a great chance

| Since they beat us, Hull have been abysmal - you could argue they played well above their weight against us and, of course they are capable of doing it again but I don't think lightning will strike twice.
They were garbage v Catalans on Saturday, and only a woeful knock-on-a-thon display by the French, complete with another display of lazyitis by good old Leon kept them in the game and the cup.
Warrington, on the other hand were imperious on Sunday, and probably did the decent thing in clocking off 10 minutes early and saving a few blushes.

| Honestly expect us to win. I was iffy going into the Quarter, then I thought Hudds desire would perhaps see them home, but for all the will in the world we still blew them off the park. I feel we could well do the same to Hull.

you need to watch the game again, the hull defence was excellent and catalan had only 1 chance in the second half despite a load of possession. that said we coughed up a lot of ball as did catalan, and there were issues with the humidity making the ball slippery. our attack was limited but we took most of our chances, a classic away performance really. one things for sure if we cough up a lot of ball against you and give you field position we will lose. holdsworth will be back for us and he'll make a difference to our overall play. my other worry is how our forwards will match up, we have been poor in this area recently but against catalan there were signs of improvement

| Everyone knows that Warrington are the favourites in this game. However, we've already beaten you once this season and so won't count ourselves out of it just yet.
When we beat you earlier in the season it was due to some fantastically tough tacking and a great kicking game by Holdsworth which kept you pinned back. If we want to be in with a chance of winning then we again need to be on the top of our game. It's a one-off match so anything could happen.
Hopefully there aren't any serious injuries in this weekend's SL fixtures so that both teams are at as close to full strength as possible for the semi final.

| Wouldn't be surprised to see an odd Warrington team this weekend to avoid possibility of injuries - no Atkins obviously, no Myler, I wouldn't be shocked if Hodgson, Ratchford, Joel, Waterhouse were all missing. Bring in Williams, Harrison (played for Swinton?), McCarthy, Laithwaite...

Not quite true, we also beat Hull Kr and Leeds after you. Catalan was the turning point. Since then we've had 3 narrow losses. 9 points being the total difference in those three games. At one point this season we were on fire, playing with confidence and being expansive with the right edge of crooks and Lineham in sensational form. If you play like you did against the Giants and we play like we did against Leeds, its going to be an epic game. Whoever wins I fancy to lift the trophy, may the best team win.

The obvious choice for a rest in the Halves is Lee, but Ratch has played nearly every game this year. Lee has not long come back from injury so he may not get a rest. Can we recall GOB back from Saints? Would TS consider resting both Lee & Stefan & put Bridge & Grix in the halves? We couldn't put Monas M in the halves because that would mean no interchange for Higham. Trent played some big minutes on Sunday & I thought at the time is he playing 70 minutes & then getting a rest against Rovers.
With Myler & Ryan both injured & GOB at Saints I can see TS having to play Ratch, Lee & Brett. With Tyrone, Ben H, & Big Riley resting the forwards. Before last seasons Semi we rested some players against Salford & got tonked, but last year we were clear 2nd and could 'afford' to lose the 2 points but this season we need every point we can get to finish 2nd .

Is 2nd that important in the big scheme of things? As long as you're top 4 I would have thought the rest was irrelevant.
Will be interesting to see the team selection, We tend to gauge Wire games on the Briers factor, he plays we lose, he doesn't we win. No doubt that statement will be proved wrong one way or another this weekend

Opps, not had a drink either so no excuses.
I've put Ben in at 13. Where hopefully he will play for the P & B for the next 10 + years
