50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| Good luck to him if he goes. He's probably going for more money, the chance to live in another country and to test himself in the best league in the world.
We need not concern ourselves with player drain. As a sport they are a lot wealthier than we are. We cannot compete financially. Cannot. There are some things in life where you just have to accept it - this is one of them. The real kick off will be when Tomkins goes.

| Quote: Barbed Wire "It is in today's League Week in Aus, can be found online and on twitter also. Looks like he's gone.
Aussie clubs will load up on English 'robots' for forwards to make a ruck load of tackles and there share of carries per game and spend on the halves and outside backs. Can you imagine how cheap Cooper/Mossop would be compared to a run of the mill Aussie prop, a Ben Ross or a Dane Tilse. You'd be talking half the money, for a gamble on them blossoming into a 'Burgess''"
Don't get me started on this; the whole development of the game in this country seems to be revolving around producing players who all conform to a type. Hence we are good at producing forwards but not players with flair or vision.

| Here we go. Now that he is off we will get;
"Never liked him anyway".
"He pinched my Star Wars model when we were in school together"
"Who wants to go to Oz, they have man eating spiders and really ugly birds"

| I'm confused ?
A couple of years ago the arguement was that SL players weren't good enough to play in the NRL.
Now the arguement is that SL isn't good enough to retain players and stop the exodus to the NRL ?

| Same job, more money, new adventures.
If i had the points i'd have already left here myself, good luck to him, i think he'll end up in media when he finishes too, very professional sounding grounded person is how he comes across.

| Who is winning in this though, the NRL or Super League? England or Australia?
It is of no benefit to the Aussie national team to have 10 Englishmen playing in there comp keeping out Aussie youngsters. Yet we reap the benefits (on the international stage) of having our players with the experience of playing/competing/beating Aussies on a weekly basis.

| Surely the influx of Super League talent to the NRL will displace Aussies who will by default look for the next best contract which will probably be over here Doesn't mean we will lose out in any way.

| Must be a slow news week in Oz if they feel they need a press conference to announce the signing of Mike Cooper. 99% of fans in Oz won't have heard of him.

| I think its time for the salary cap to be increased. Unless of course your talking about Warrington as we don't bother with it (if you read other boards).

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

How do you propose we fund an increase in the cap?
