It will be interesting to see where they both end up. I am not convinced myself, i just hope they both get sufficient game time to show their abilities. I suspect we will look back in years to come and consider the Ratchford signing as one of our best.

| Cooper was outstanding against Saints at Landfill Park last season in the semi final and as a result kept Carvell out of the final. Hope he plays with the same mindset on Friday.

47035_1386433761.gif We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif |

| Looking at our pack, I think we are quietly confident about the forwards.
The backs have some possibilities as well, it's the halves where we will struggle.
I'm hoping we will come out with a rough tough game in the forwards and try and work your boys over with sheer weight of numbers. Then the lack of halfbacks may not be as telling.

| For me ratchford is a far better fullback than he is a half back

| Quote: Alfie Langer No2 "As long as both Monas are fully fit I'd go;
Hodgson
Monaghan Evans Atkins Riley
Ratchford Myler
Wood Monaghan Hill
Westwood McCarthy
Grix
Higham Carvell Cooper Currie
I hope we utilise Cooper as an out and out prop forward this week in rotation with the other 3. Even if its 10/15 minute bursts either side of HT will help spell both Wood & Hill.
Bridge & Laithwaite to miss out. I'd let Bridgey have one more run out with Swinton and bring him back next week. I don't think he'll be quite "match fit" for Saints just yet.
If Joel's not 100%, Bridge comes in at right centre and Evans to the wing. No change to game plan.
If Mike's not 100%, Higham to start and Laithwaite on the bench. Grix to go in at 9 when spelling Higham, Tyke to move to loose and Currie/Laithwaite to left SR. Please don't move Myler from 7 this week - he's not a 9 IMO and there was too much messing around and confusion in the pack at HKR.
In Smith We Trust. Ruddy hate Saints.'"
This Alfie 100%
whether he's in the 17 or not it's also great to have Bridge back in contention. For me, at his best he's good enough, provides great options in the three quarters and I think people were too quick to have a go at him...short memories IMO

I'd go with what you say regarding Chris Bridge. There's really on only real 'Bridge hater' on here and if Chris were to score or make 5 tries a game, he would still find something to whinge about. He has been out for some time, so another run out with Swinton might be in order.

| Evans wasn't great last week, could open the door for Bridge. Class act Chris Bridge, I'd take a fit Bridge over most in the league, including RA

Assuming he is back to his normal self, most people would probably pick Bridge at the moment. But what do you do when he retires, or gets injured. We need the likes of Evans to come in to the team, get SL experience and hopefully demonstrate that they are as good as Bridge. Without game time that is just not going to happen. If you flashed back to Bridge's fourth / fifth SL game of his career, how good was he ? Very few players walk into a top 4 SL side and perform at a high level immediately.

| Evans wasn't great? Are you for real...he dropped the ball once, his defence is immense, and his running is strong...he's playing great atm...if we're going to drop a centre we drop Atkins, hes done nothing this season so far and needs to gain some form, I am a fan of Atkins, he just needs form

Atkins tends to start the year a little slowly doesn't he? His performances improve as the ground firms up a bit.
If Evans was a little off last week (I wasn't there to judge) I'd wage having JMonas back on the qin would shore that edge up a little.

| In the lads defence, Evans is a union style winger who has been put at centre to help build him up and teach him more about defensive play in league ..... I'd be surprised if playing this season at centre isn't part of getting him into shape to eventually replace JM on the wing. It's not always about having the strongest 13 on the pitch for that one match ......
Playing both him and Williams on the same flank last week though was inviting the opposition to run that side - and they did!
As for Bridge - can only echo most sentiments on here - only his temper that lets him down .... when that's channelled properly he's always forcing opposition onto the back foot, which is 90% of winning the game
