plus i like the dark edge of the remake it sticks more to the book but the original is the one i was brought up on and will always be the best

The original is darker and more sinister. Burton's is gratuitously flashy for the sale of it. And while I liked the oompa loompas singing the songs from the book, a repeated deep Roy just didn't work for me
