he was at least 6ft 2, very good under the high ball, and our best ever goal kicker, clearly not as good a player as Davies, but a typical old school fullback.

He actually made the transition from full back to wing by accident When our regular fullback Derek Finegan broke his leg at central park. Finegan couldnt get into the team again, leaving Hesford as first choice full back for the next 5 seasons.

i'd plump for langer from my period of 93, onwards, i'm not denying the talent, just surprising thats all.

Whenever i've seen something like this sort of thread previously, i've never seen his name mentioned, so, for several on this today, just had me wondering what's different, all opinion though, i know.

I'd go with Gregory simply because he was the best British scrum half I've seen in my time watching the game, playing in the best Warrington side I've ever seen.

Langer, though good for Wire, was at the end of his career, playing in a mediocre side.
