| And on another note, I'm so sorely tempted to buy a 3D tv, and subscribe to the 3D sky service if it means I can get a commentary team of Brian Carney + Bill Arthur.

| Quote: Nikaed "I was shocked at that. Celebrated like Liverpool fans when they get a corner at Old Trafford. Small time pie eating prick.'"
It was an exciting moment and potentially a match winner. He'd only just previously said how exciting the game was. For a neutral that was one of the biggest moments of the game.
I note your not moaning about Brian Noble creaming over Monaghans video ref effort.
It's not PC that has that bias problem. It's you.
Clarkey is eons better than either Eddie or Stevo.

| Quote: Deus Dat Incrementum "His reaction to the 40/20 was based out of excitement at the prospect that Huddersfield might score that would set the game up for an even bigger finale. Sky are there to provide entertainment and for the nuetral another try from Hudds would have made a great last 10 minutes. I am sure if we were behind by 6 points with 10 to go and we kicked a 40/20 his reaction would have been the same. He is paid by sky to do a job and hype up the product just like his comments about the 3d coverage and I have no problem with that.
One good thing about Clarke is he says it as he sees it, He will disagree with other comentators if he thinks they are talking poop as he did with stevo last night. If anything it is his honesty that gets him into trouble.
I quite enjoy watching him to be honest and he sees a lot more in a game than Stevo does. I like the way he bigged up Grix, Grix does not always get the headlines but does lots of things very well which most supporters do not see, Clarke is able to point thing out like that and educate people like myself. Viewers will learn more about the game from Clarke than they will off Stevo and Terry any day.'"
I like Phil Clarke too and on the whole his anlysis and comments on the game are brilliant, he does see the things the mere mortals like us dont as lets remember he was a n awesome player that graced the rugby field in his daya nd he would fit into ay top team right now.
My only gripe with him is that he just cant take his cherry and white coat off (which he needs to do from time to time) when he's commenting on games, I am sure he is proud of his Wigan background and he has every right to be but he needs to remember his enthusiasm, knowledge, understanding and insight into the game would be met with the big plaudits if he could remember that evrey team doesnt need to be compared to Wigan. I think he makes a real positive difference to the game on the whole. His comments on Grix show how he spots areas of the game that other just dont see.

| Phil Clarke gives accurate and incite full commentary week i week out. Wire fans remove your cherry and white bias and acknowledge somebody who knows the game inside out.
He may be a geek with all the stats and he may be an ex-wigan captain with a slight bias but he knows more about the game than we ever will and in my eyses he's never spouted anything but the truth however unpallatable to us Wire fans

Look, I agree that Clarke is incredibly biased towards Wigan. Absolutely. But Eddie is equally biased against Wigan and as such creams himself over whoever is challenging around Wigan. I imagine it's equally as annoying the other way around.

Phil Clarke is horrendous
there were other examples where he was clearly disappointed that things didn't go hudds way, when they knocked pn he audibly sighed.
Brian Noble was right to cream over jonas try it was class. and it came after a wonderful opening ten or so minutes by wire.
If that was charnley, clarke would have robbed the other mikes and gone on and on about it. he called a good charnley catch from a decent lockers kick world class ffs. it wasn't it was just good and the kind of thing briers and jonas / king do for fun.
you pies love him because he keeps your love-in smugfest going even when you are not playing
i'm not saying eddie and stevo are world class commentators (although clarke probably would if they were from wigan), but they do mention how well other teams are doing (not just wire ) and don't compare everyone unfavourably to wire like clarke does wigan

| If anyone should go from the Sky team, it's definitely Hemmings.
Not only is he horrendously biased and has a huge chip on his shoulder, but he also has absolutely no idea what the hell he is talking about. That just isn't on.
Clarke does display a pie bias, but he knows the sport and has been there and done it.
It's a little ironic that some folk are bagging Clarke for praising one aspect of Fartown's game, when if in fact you listened to his full match commentary he was very complimentary about Wire for most of the match. And justifyably so, they were great that night.
It was lucky we could hear Clarkey say anything at all over the sound of Eddie beating himself off over Wire in the commentary box.

| People were throwing stuff at Clarke the other night, jelly babies etc. The cameraman picked them up and ate them which I had mixed feelings over, I'd hate for him to be ill.
It's stuff like this that lets us (as a club) down, I know he's a bit mardy at times and lets his heart rule his head when speaking on TV, I'm prone to calling him a widge, but I don't think there's a line. The satisfaction should come from us hopefully winning the league, knocking them out of the cup etc, and him having to comment on it, not launching stuff at him.

| One thing is for sure, he's not going to be any nicer to us if we boo and throw stuff at him. In fact it just embarrasses the club and it really makes me cringe.
I can't stand Clarke when he commentates on Wigan, and indeed when he brings Wigan into games they're not even playing in, but he is doing his job of creating discussion, giving viewpoints we may not have considered as ordinary fans and promoting good rugby league. I've sworn at him a few times on TV, but equally he has argued with the other two cretins to make points that I was making myself in my front room.
All things considered, he could sit in the commentary box wearing a Wigan shirt and shouting 'Warrington #### Dire ####### Scouse thieving Wire scum #####' in some sort of Tourette's-style rant for 80 minutes and it still wouldn't affect what takes place on the field.

| Just look at the replays of when he has commented on Wire games this eason, the man is clearly showing a bias that should not be permitted by his sky bosses. Before any smart comes back and says this is rubbish, then listen to the commentary of previous games first and then give an honest opinion

I really don't understand this supposed bias that Eddie has for Warrington. Yes, he lives in the town, but from listening to his commentary, if he has to have bias against one team, it would be St Helens, not Warrington.
And looking at his Wikipedia page, it seems that his "bias" also extends to Wigan too.
