Come off it
One try was a 50-50 call , correctly given (even commrnted on by Wells)
The rest, ALL the officials got everything spot on
Top game, we won...deservedly

| Smith played OK for us tonight...but Silverspud evened it up in my eyes.
If saints could sign a couple of decent half backs they might start challenging the big clubs again in a couple of years I reckon...need some props as well.

| Quote: Ulster Wire "Their pack was superb but I though LMS struggled again, especially in the first half. Graham might spit the dummy out but he doesen't half drag his team back into games. Solilola, Puletula and Roby were superb also.
I was very frustrated with us at times. I thought we made a lot of errors and really struggled to complete a set in the final 20 minutes of the first half. That being said we turned it round in the second half and our defence meant that even though we were making errors, we could in the most part deal with the consequences.
A vital win and a good result but plenty to work on.'"
LMS struggled? Did he hell. He shrugged off Morley's opening bellringer as if he'd bumped into a door on his way to the loo in the middle of the night and he did that several times, bouncing off the initial impact to make another 5 or 6 metres. That opening hit would have KO'd most SL forwards.
As I said the difference was your three halves. Briers, Myler and Hodgson. All superb along with Monaghan. Gaskell is now way past the stage in a young player's first year where he needs a rest and Lomax has had better days. I'd pay thousands to see a game between those two sides with everyone playing. No injuries on either side. It'd be the best game ever.

Lol. You sure there wasn't a Wire knock on in there. It looked very much like it at the game. 2 knock ons should be fine anyway, look at your second try. Throw a forward pass in for a bonus point as well.

| Everybody's giving Saints huge amount of credit, but come on for us to manage to claw that back after half time, after losing King and in awful condidtions, and to keep ou composure near the line was absolutley top drawer.
Funnily enough, I mentioned the other week that I hadn't seen us dig in yet and really work hard when we are up against. That was it for me tonight.
Immense effort. Saints were unlucky but I feel second half composure won us the game. Saints showed desire and determination.
Having said all that, I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground. Intact I don't fancy us next week against Cas. This performance would of taken one heluva lot of energy out of the tanks, wouldnt like to be any of them lot tomorrow morning, that's certain.

| Awesome game, although would have been gutted (again) if we had lost after the start we had. I'm sure Saints always raise their game against us, must have been one of their best displays of the season even though they lost in the end.
The Wire stuck to the task but the last twenty minutes we came out on top, just couldn't get our of our 20 meter line for 20 minutes of the second half.
I don't usually single out any opposition players but credit especially to Pullatula (sp) and Roby, who IMO got Saints back into the game. On another note I think wellens has seen better days for Saints.
It was one of those games that both teams made mistakes and gave away silly penalties but that added to one of the games of the season for the Wire.
Well done Wire a great win and top atmosphere tonight.

It's not that simple though is it? Tonight proves the case; the game you suggest could be crap, and you could still lose.

| This game proves one thing for me
Playoff winning mentality
How many times have we crumbled when we've been on the back foot to Saints in high pressure games.

yea your right, john wells as good as said that was a knock on which lead to one of your tries....which ian (gobe) smith rejected.
if the decision would have been given the other way round you'd have been screaming blue murder...full marks to ian smith yet again for being blatently obvious in his decisions against saints...

Got shoved back a fair few times as well but I may change my mind when I re-watch the game. Certainly hasn't performed ro his potential so far for Saints.
I think despite the result Saints will take a lot from that game. After last week they really needed to restore some pride and I think they did that. Great come back in the first half and didn't give up in the second.

| How many times have we seen that match tonight?...and been on the wrong end of the scoreline....if you swapped the shirts it would have been just like a lot of Wires Saints games in the past 10 years where we have been in it till half time and then Saints would pull away in the second half...
Its sooooo nice for the boot to be on the other foot. Well done Wires....top of the league for another week.

| Just got back and, in a way, that was possibly the performance that has impressed me most this season simply because they really had to dig in and come back after full time. We haven't won many close matches this season so to come through this under pressure is really encouraging for the rest of the season. I agree that the major difference between the sides was in the halves and at fullback. I thought Tony P was immense for Saints tonight.

| Should we have had a couple of eight point tries?...King was tackled in the air when he scored...and Benny nearly lost his head from a Wello swinging arm when he scored.
