Here's a suggestion of a Wire player...Michael Monaghan. He was the best player on the pitch tonight by a country mile. Briers is good, but Monaghan is something else.

No one is saying monas isn't brilliant.... But if the sky pundits will talk about briers as a potential MOS then why shouldn't we.... After all, he has been possibly the best half back in SL this season....

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

I wouldn't disagree, but the Sky pundits aren't always correct. I wouldn't argue with Briers being at least in the top 3 halfbacks this year, but I think the main reason is because the forwards dominate and allow him time on the ball, and I think the reason the forwards are so dominant is because Monaghan makes their job a lot easier. He also makes it easier for the halfbacks because he's a creative player. Of course you don't need a Wiganer to explain what will be obvious to Wire fans, but I thought I'd say it anyway.

Of course you are correct in everything you say.... Our forwards have been immense and have set the platform for briers to be as good as he has been.
His creativity in setting up scores is second to none though.... Forwards can set the plaform but tries need scoring... And the way he produces game after game is great to watch.

It definitely wouldn't be pushing it to suggest Briers could be man of steel. He's got to be a frontrunner at this stage. In fact I'd say all the current favourites for the award would come from Wire. I just hope that isn't still the case come the challenge cup quarter final.

| I'd say the 3 front runners so far this season are Roby, Briers and Tomkins.

Stop embarrassing all the decent fans your club has that come on this forum.
Your post was probably deleted because you're a brain dead moron.

There are several Wigan fans who come on here who make some very fair and pertinent comments, you are not one of them. You really don't have a clue do you?
