Couple of points to clear up regarding the beeb and the CC.

By law, big sporting events eg, Grand National, fa cup final, CC final have to be shown live on terrestial tv, so the BBC do so, which,imo, is much better than having it on an advert laden channel.

A few years ago, the BBC made sweeping changes to what type of programmes it was making and the costings. Sport suffered heavily, whereas, period dramas, reality shows, celebrity bilge etc prospered because these were much easier to produce and cost a lot less.

You will find that on the 25th July, BBC2 will be covering the prestigious Ascot meeting which features the queen Elizabeth diamond stakes. Rugby league will be shown when the racing has finished.

imo, nobody matches the BBC for outdoor events, and the thought of high-class horse racing followed by high-class RL is mouthwatering.

I'd Watch the game if it was on QVC+2, don't see the difference between BBC1 and BBC2 and i don't even care if they switch channels at half time.

I remember when we used to switch ends at half time. That involved a 100 yard walk, and usualy a bit of a fight as the fans passed each other. And some people complain about not having to move or fight, just push one button.

Think I will wander up on Friday morning and pick up my ticket.

Used to make me laugh at Wilderspool where a tannoy message would announce 'no changing ends at half time' but loads did it anyway. Usually a few scuffles especially when we played the chemically enhanced.

good old wilderspool days,I went to the wizards and bramley game the other week and looked up and remembered that we used to stuggle to get our chips pie and peas in that little corner where the food shop was lol.
