Very quick, good hands, takes the line on and spots a gap. Just as important for a half back he can organise and move the pack around. Can see him being our 6 or 7 for years to come.'"
Interesting that he's playing with Briers at halfback. It's like it really is his chance, fair enough against lesser opposition but he's not with Grix in some half d half back combo, he's got Briers with him, so if it works, well, he can tick a few boxes in Smith's eyes really as there's not that 'would he work with Lee' doubt.
It would be nice for him to have a really good, solid game and keep his place for the Castleford game the following Friday, that has to be his aim on Sunday, not just a one game then back to the 20's. Keep Grix out.

With TS seemingly keeping Mike Monas out of the halves despite Myler's injury it was probably only a matter of time before Gareth got his chance. Grix did ok on Sunday but he isn't and never will be a 6 or 7 despite him playing there consistently before we signed him. Imo we're short of a half in the squad and it looks like Lord Tony was waiting to give Gareth his opportunity. He's got the ability and will get all the coaching and encouragement he needs to make it in SL. As for Simon Grix I think his versatility sometimes does him an injustice.

If this is to be the case, it will be interesting to see how Smith integrates him into the team.
With Myler being the sort of player he is, many think we need an experienced organiser to come in at 6 when Briers retires.
It would be nice if we can fill that position from the youth team.

He certainly fits that bill. Fully deserves his chance

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

With O'Brien starting, it is pretty important to keep Monas at hooker, he will give him a bit more time with the ball in his hands.

| Having seen him as recent as Salford on Good Friday, he's got bags of pace on him aswell, this is just one attribute of his all round game. I'm really looking forward to watching him on Sunday and how he performs.

Simon Grix is our version of John O'Shea.

| Gaz O'Brien is a top half back! Having watched him being brought through the under 18s, i guarantee that we'll see O'Brien starting in a number 6 or 7 shirt in seasons to come! Him an Briers should rip keithley apart on sunday!
