And there are also parts of Warrington that still retain an element of "community"....parts of Dallam, Parts of Orford, Bewsey as opposed to the affluent but "cant give a damn about your neighbours" areas of parts of Appleton, parts of Walton, parts of Stockton Heath.
Which gives a better sense of well being, a hard-working, working class person from Bewsey or a family money never did a hard days work in your life person from Walton. People don't drag parts of towns down, media reporting, social deprivation and CRAP SURVEYS drag parts of town down.

Excuse me, but why have people from Walton (as you quoted, and you probably include Stockton Heath / Grappenhall / Appleton )never done a hard days work in their life?
Surely, they've had to work hard, to afford their mortgages, etc. Or are you another working class warrior, with a chip on your shoulder against anyone who's actually got off their ar5es, and done better for themselves.

But they have their own 'wall' in Tesco, a wall which should be used instead for a traditional British pizza deli counter.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Which means you must have googled it with the express purpose of putting it on here for banter, using the fact that the presumably live in the town as some sort of cover. You should get yourself a hobby.

Working class from Bewsey originally who got off his ar5e and got a professional qualification and has worked all his adult life doing what people would often regard as a middle class professional so no chip on the shoulder here.
I know 2 or 3 people from the South Warrington area who are completely obnoxious in attitude because they think they are better than everybody else because their family had money previously and it got handed down to them and they have not needed to work.
Given these two sets of facts, am I the lesser person because of where I was born?
Forgive me for generalising (although I did say A family money etc etc PERSON...but PEOPLE (plural).....but surely thats what everybody else seems to have done so far.

| I too, am Bewsey born and bred Mikej (but don't put myself down as any sort of class, as the majority that do, always have a problem with their polar opposite), and knew a lot of people who got off their ar53s and bettered themselves, and good for them. BUT, I also knew of plenty more, who wont work and never will, in trouble with the law, and generally sponging off the state (see the Guardian on a Thursday to see where the troublemakers come from, but then again, I'm generalising).
And yes, I do see your other point about some people being born into money and are lazy/obnoxious (but there ain't that many). The vast majority of people who live in affluent areas of this town, have got where they are through bettering themselves. If they where that "snobbish" (for want of a better word), they wouldn't be living in Warrington, would they. They'd have jumped ship to Altrincham, Alderley Edge etc.
Too many times on here, I've read "oh people from Stocky Heath/Appleton/Grapp, they're ******* snobs cos they've got ******* money, ****** *******", and it makes my pooh itch
Oh, and for the record
Born and bred in Bewsey
Then lived in what's termed as Latchford/Wilderspool
and now living in Padgate,
so I'm hardly Little Lord Fauntleroy

You want to see the reaction i get when i say i live in London, been here a decade now so my accent isn't as strong and because of this i actually get grief, so much so that i actually go more northern than i ever was when i'm up now, overcompensating.
I wouldn't mind but half of London makes Bewsey look upmarket.
