| Quote: Saddened! "There was minimal shouting, but what shouting they did make was so embarassing. Singing the "What's it like to shag a dog?" chant when your team is 24-0 down and arguing amongst themselves beneath the posts is just cringeworthy.
I don't think he'll get much abuse and I think by next season (If he stays in this country long term) he'll not be treated any different to any other player.
But on his performance, he's no winger? He looks a perfect centre to me. Wasted on the wing IMO.'"
THere was minimal shouting from the Saints fans in general, those who were there that is.

| Someone could surely think of a song to the tune of Noah's Ark,
Monaghan's come two by two (etc etc)
I fear I have not the confidence nor the linguistic skills to complete such a task!

[quote="Rogues Gallery":xjc47q2r]Wire - the enigma. They could finish top or eighth, who knows.[/quote:xjc47q2r]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7749.jpg |

| I think the fact that the Warrington are fans barking at him shows that we appreciate him. As we seem to do that now every time he gets the ball.
He looks to be a great player. Looking forward to seeing him get some open space in front of him.

| Quote: Hayley1 "Does anyone else think it would be a good idea for the fans to show a little more support for Joel Monaghan now?
He's playing great and he gets so much stick. I've noticed at the end of the matches he hangs back a little and applauds the crowd with his head down. The dog related chants are always going to be there and to be fair they are humorous and expected, but maybe its time to have a chant showing our fans are behind him?'"
I agree, he has no need to keep his head down tho, in my opinion he has more than proved his place and is a fantastic player. The chants will always be there and thats to be expected and for him to get over, but i do think we need to show were behind him and maybe his own chant will give him the confidence to hold his head up high and know were behind him and we want him to stay.

Exactly. Everytime Jonas got the ball, he got those chants but it was more in appreciation than "having a go at him".
All these oppo fans when he signed saying that they are going to give him lots of stick.......well, there have been 3 games played so far and I have not heard these consistant chants at him. For the majority of the Saints game, all you could hear from them was their sighs and groans. I didn't even hear one shout of "FORWARD".

Eh? What are you on about? He's played very well right from the off for us and as a result he's very much appreciated. Can't say I've noticed him getting any stick at all off Warrington fans. If you are talking about away fans, well that should be water off a ducks back to an RL player. Virtually all players get stick off away fans.

| Easily the loudest bit of 'woof, woof, woofing' came from our own support during the second half. All good natured, hope Joel thinks so.

| Quote: wire1 "Totally agree! Hes played his balls off these past three games, definately deserves his own chant IMO.'"
He's already got one........ (was sung by everyone around me on Friday night)......
He couldn't say no,
He couldn't say no,
Joels Cocker Spaniel,
He couldn't say no.
And as for the barking everytime he gets the ball, as previously mentioned, if we do it it leaves out opposing fans with pretty much nothing.

| Why don't we make daisy chains and play hopscotch and release butterflies and call our teddy bears something cute like Mr snuggley, and serve milk and cookies instead of beer and burgers?

While skipping hand-in-hand across the meadow as the birds sing and the bee's buzz ?
