But that's because Wigan council had the foresight to put in undersoil heating. icon_wink.gif

" Time is but a flowing stream". Pedro. Higherfold Cockey Pond. 1973. You can shout for silence, but boots worn all day will always hum.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_28343.gif

Wigan councill didn't have anything to do with the design they just ok'd it. Wigan council wanted to dig up and close the road outside the ground the other year. The closure was to start the day before we played Wigan in friendly and would last 4 days. Thats how clever Wigan council are.

[b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag. [b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg

Dave Whelan was good enough to put his initials in his stadium to remind you who is letting you use it.*

*as long as it doesn't affect Wigan Athletic, natch.

No problem, probably the cheapest running costs of any Superleague club.

Oh and Wigan manage to get their game on U20 v London Scholars today (42 - 10) at Orrell.

What a joke why do it we all know the game is off due to Milly on here. Why cant we be told when she knows. What about all the families that bought tickets and cant go now because its a school night ? Will they get a refund. I dont think so it will go straight into Clarkes back pocket

Just because milly says the game is off it doesn't mean it definately is, the chances are it will be off but it's still worth having a pitch inspection in the morning.. I'm sure the club will refund tickets if people can't make the rearranged date!

Totally agree - surely the club has its own climate that is totally different to the rest of Warrington. Just because the ground is frozen in my garden, why should I have to accept that the HJ pitch is also frozen.

Parry Gordon's passes,Les Boyd's strong runs,Mike Gregory's workrate,Des Drummond's tries,Jonathan Davies' sheer genius...........oh,and Alan Rathbone's punches! All memories of the legendary venue which was Wilderspool stadium. Gone maybe,but never,ever forgotten. Warrington 15,Australia 12.:icons077e_files/5445-3661prettyflower-msnicons.jpg

Usually it's the pitch in front of the south stand which doesn't get much sun that's the problem. Given that it's a friendly game i'd rather it be called off in the best interests of the players than it be played on a dodgy pitch and one of our squad get a season ending injury!
