| Quote: Winchester Wire "I am sure this has probably been done before, but I was having a bit of a tidy up earlier and came across my membership card from 1990. At the time, I agreed to "adopt a mature standard of behaviour at all times"!.
I first joined in 1980, and I remember the girl on reception telling me that the date of birth I had given (my real one) only made me 17, and would I like to amend the date by a year to make me 18
Wasn't Tracey's called The Crazy Daisy way back, way way back!!!!

Derek was the bloke who owned the place. He used to play in a band called Last Orders if I remember right. They used to play in the back bar of the Lion on a Friday night.

Didn't Bill Medland have a hand in the Carlton? or was that the Lion?

| Don't think he had anything to do with the Carlton, but he did own the Lion, and the Rams Head at Grappenhall?
He wouldn't stand any messing about in the Lion!

| I know, I got a right good slap off him for knocking a table over, he had hands like bloody shovels.
If I hadn't been ever so slightly squiffy I'd have pointed out that he shouldn't be doing that, I would!!!

4729_1341555985.jpg I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_4729.jpg |

| I thought Bill Medland had the license.
What do I remember.
Punk nights on Monday, going to school with a hangover on Tuesday.
The Lukers, Penetration (got their stuff still on my iPod)
The stairs, how small it was, the smell of reefers.
Being in there one Friday night, seeing three Wire players absolutely off their heads and watching same three players next day in a televised cup match against Saints.
Great memories, doubt it would be allowed to open these days.

| Quote: Teessidewire "You must be nearly as old as me! The Hamlet was known as 'the hole in the wall.' Later became Shane Fenton's.'"
Don't remember that.
The Hamlet closed for a while and re-opened as Crazy Daisy but was never as good.
Do remember meeting Toby Du Toit in the Hamlet though many times.

Shane fentons nightspot was on Mersey st, now Club Wired, the Hamlet was at the back of Woolies, which then became the Crazy Daisy, I think.

Don't forget the Bell Hall.
Anyone remember the Caravella in Stokton Heath.
