| Quote: Dropkick Murphy "There's a lot of bias on here saying Westwood or King should be ahead of Tomkins.
I only attended one Wigan match this season and they lost that (V us at their gaff) so I can't comment much on their players over the course of the season, but they finished top of the pile so if Tomkins played a huge role in that then he is understandably shortlisted ahead of players in a team that finished third.
Richards stands out a mile because his points scoring is there for all to see, but the only people whose opinions on Wigan players really count are the people who watch them week in week out and those who have played against them. I doubt that is anyone on here.
We're biased to Warrington players because we see what they're doing every week so the likes of Westwood and King stand out for us more than they would to a Wigan fan who watches Tomkins every week.
Whoever wins Man of Steel will deserve it and I hope it's Morley.'"
Sam is a poor fullback.
I think you could ask a Pie and they'd say that.
He has played there often and so he was't doing his job correcty.
Plus he's a niggly, cheating S.O.B.
A million wonder tries wouldn't make up for those two points. I think there was a mistake made in him being shortlisted.
I suggested Westwood cause i know he has an amazing season and his numerous awards and selection in the SL Dream team testifies to that. Stand out good guy and great player.

I take it back then. Sorry.
I'm not one to comment on his form but a lot of hear say had told me the opposite.
I just googled "Sam Tomkins Fullback"
number two
A good stand off? Yes. A good Fullback? No.
Again i haven't seen him every match

Sams been fantastic at fullback. It stops teams being able to mark him out of the game as he can pop up anywhere, as well as enabling him to run from deep.
He's torn teams apart single handedly this season (Hull KR).
I think the only reason you haven't seen Wigan fans putting him up there for MOS is because in a few peoples eyes his impact this season has been reduced as he's not been the only stand out player (playing in a good team rather than a pants one for example).
I think he's matured a lot this year, last year his main contribution was tries, this year he's contributed tries, assists and a much more all round game. I think he's rightfully nominated.
Westwood has had a quality season yes, but Sam has been fantastic most weeks and is a massive part of the reason why we topped the table. Full deserves to be nominated.

| I don't agree with Tomkins or Richards for MoS simply because I am an old RL fan who thinks MoS should really go to a forward where the hard graft is. However, I don't play the game professionally so I tip my hat to those who put their bodies on the line week in and week out & trust their judgement as to the Top 3 competitors in SL this season.

| Sam Tomkins is an amazing talent, one that I'd have at Wire in the blink of an eye. I hope Moz gets it but I couldn't complain if one of the Wigan players did.

Think thats how I feel, want Sam or Pat to get it, but wouldn't begrudge Morley it. The mans a machine.

| ST has had a brilliant year and would be a worthy winner. I would argue he'd had a bigger role in Wigan's good league season that Pat Richards has and would therefore be ahead of him in the running for MoS. However Richards clearly gets all the headlines for his pointscoring and has had a brilliant year so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him win. Morley has had another great year and is well-respected by all his oponents in the game due to being such a tough, hard and honest player and so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him walk away with the award either. All in all, a worthy 3 man shortlist i'd have thought.

| Honestly, do you think Adrian Morley has had a better season than Jamie Peacock or James Graham?

I'm not a Wire or Pies fan. From a neutrals point of view I'd say they are 3 very fair candidates for MoS. To suggest Tomkins has been poor at fullback is a load of cack. He's been one of the best attacking FB's in the league, and for his size, he puts plenty of defence in. His positioning could be better, but that will improve with experience. IMO it should be a close call between Tomkins and Morley

| Dropkick, you say whoever wins it deserves it. I disagree, Roby won it over Barrett, that was a joke!

| Quote: Saddened! "It's all subjective I appreciate but who exactly does the shortlisting? Is the shortlist the top 3 as voted for by the players and then they announce who has won, or does someone select the 3 choices and give the players a ballot paper with 3 boxes on it?'"
Shortlist is made up of the three players who have received the most votes from their peers. The winner is already known but issuing a shortlist allows for more "drama" at the awards ceremony (eg all short-listed players in attendance) plus creates more media coverage leading up to the naming of the actual winner.
Suprised that Tomkins has made the top three myself but if that's how the rest of super league's players voted then so be it. Fore people to suggest he hasn't had a good season and isn't a good full-back is an embarassment.
Perhaps two Wigan players on the list may suggest a split of the vote going to recognise Wigan's acheivements this year and hopefully is a pointer towards that Morley has won. I hope so but if he hasn't I won't be throwing a tantrum akin to Wigan fans when Roby won.

Certainly better than Peacock. In some respects better than Graham in others probably not however Morley has lead Warrington to a trophy this season prior to votes being cast so that may have tipped things in his balance rather than Graham's with players who wished to recognise the hard work that props do.
