| Quote: NCB "I mean, what is the 'criteria' for Man of Steel exactly? Richards has made a supeb contribution to his team's success this year. On points scored therefore he will win - but then being a good goal kicker is surely not a Man of Steel? Tactical kicks in the field of play are just as difficult, but these cannot be marked by 2 points. Of course his tries have been great this year too - but is that not what a winger is there for?
Tough, consistent, inspirational play would throw up names like Westwood, Morley, Graham ([sizeshe spits his name ha ha[/size) - playing week in week out etc - in my book that is a Man of Steel.
When Hodgson won last year I was puzzled but then I did think he had pulled off many try saving tackles and returned the ball superbly, a bit more than just good kicking.
I know who I would vote for based on what I think is a Man of Steel. But then he didn't win it last year, so....'"
Just like he spits his dummy.
I agree with everything you said. Except Graham as, just like Wellens' badgering the ref, Graham is to much of a big baby for man of steel. I think Roby from saints would be a shoe in though.
and, also,... i may be thick but who do you think should be MoS?

| cant separate Richards and Westwood...both deserve it for playing in different styles. Richards a Free scoring, goal kicking winger, and Westwood a tireless outstanding workhorse who also kicked goals a bit towards the end of season.
but for people to mention Cunningham Jesus Wept I dont get it ......I really dont Get it...
apparantly he's been a legend for 16 years in the most succesful team of the superleague era yet no Lance Todd, no Man of steel, no Harry Sunderland.
that last second flop over try is his trade mark. he doesnt take games by the scruff of the neck like Farrell did, he cant kick, he never had pace...
he's not the best hooker in the country at the minute...he's not the best hooker at his own club he's probably not in the top 10 hookers in the world and here we are giving him the most influential player of the year award to him...
we havent got a clue in this country we honestly havent.....
balls ...and I tried so hard not to comment on it...

I bet he hasn't even got the nimble pace of Soli.
As a side note that burst from Davie Sol against Cas was jaw dropping.

| James Roby and James Graham have been so inspirational for Saints this year, with all our injuries they must be up there.
Elsewhere I think Morley commands a lot of respect from all fans and Westwood has been very good, but nothing like James Roby or James Graham. Both James blow Morley away on Stats and Westwood is even further back!
Sam Tomkins gets my vote at Wigan, super player and full of guts. Richards has put in a mere 80 tackles all year...super in attack, but that's only half the game, you need to have stood out in defence too.
HOWEVER I will not be surprised to see Keiron Cunningham get a Respect vote off the Players, lets be honest he is a Legend

morley makes more more meters per carry than any other prop in superleague.

I should have expected a reply like that... Come on compare all the Stats. They both blow Morley and Westwood away by a long way.... Please be sensible ...
My point is both James Roby and James Graham have blown away all with their effort, work rates and inspiration this year. Surely you can see that?

| you cant compare roby to morley.. they play in 2 totally different positions.. anyway the argument is irrelevant because westwood has been better than all of them.

Not turning it into tit for tat, made a point, think reasonable Wire fans will see that if they check the stats themselves.
Good night
