Precisely what I was just thinking - I have spent the time since the end of the game lauding the greataness of Rugby League, the quality of entertainment available and even congratulated saints for the way they finished that match.
Unfortunately reading to55ers like this on rlfans make me wonder if the people who watch this sport are actually anything above the pondlife who watch football, which I frequently claim them to be.

| He's a brilliant player, fabulous career, it was fitting he'd score the last ry in a Super League game there.

| Probably the greatest number 9 ever to pull on a shirt in the British game (and that includes pre-1996 for those who thought RL started when Superleague did), and arguably in the top 2 British players alongside Andrew Farrell since Mike Greg & Ellery plied their trade. I don't think anyone with a modicum of RL knowledge or respect would begrudge him & Saints the fairytale ending last night - it was a truly appropriate way to bring down a league rugby at KR last night both the spectacle of the match & the final dramatic twist.
Let's just hope Wire can spoil next week's party, although I really couldn't care less if we lose next week & then go on to spoil a party there the week after...

You would have to include Sculthorpe in that debate, maybe even Harris.

| Harris's top level performances were over too short a period. Yes, I agree that Scully would be close to the others but I'd put him a slight notch down.

| Stevo may well have a point with an World Cup victory under his belt and a stint in the NRL.

| Both Sculthorpe and Farrell stood up and performed at international level.
Cunningham never has, despite his ability.

| Big fat cheap shot merchant , cracking player though, the stage was set and he didn't disappoint last night, why doesn't he try one more season he'd still do the business ?
