In your sky box settings you can set the box to start recording upto 10 mins before the start of a cheduled programme and to end upto 10 mins after the programme is scheduled to finish. Its in the options or settings tab along the top.

Ive just checked mine, its fine and fits the full programme in from start to finish.

Obviously i don't have the red button interviews with being at the game.

How can you record the PS3? Seems like the only option since it's not available on the TV iPlayer but it is online. Strange.

The iPlayer version has up until Mozza gives his son(?) back after they lifted the cup then it goes onto the Red Button from there.

I bought a sony dvd recorder with freeview and a hard drive (about £200)

I recorded the final and I can watch game from hard drive or copy to dvd and watch elsewhere

don't have sky so not sure if it'll copy from there.

I got a Sagem Freeview+ 500GB Box on friday for £150 from ASDA. I was so frustrated at getting back last year and not being able to watch the match. Wife went mad, but I set up with no fuss and it recorded the the game, the whole program perfectly. It even has a facility for you to export the file, but having problems, as it will only allow you to export 4GB max. So I will have to figure out how to split it. Let me now if you want it, and I will sort it out.

We can watch iPlayer on the PS3 through the telly. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to record that and how I do it? We've also got a DVD recorder but stupidly recorded 2hrs+ of BBC2 on saturday instead of BBC1

watched the match when i got back about 10pm sat night on BBC HD. Got to the end and when morley lifts up the cup it just goes off. Thought ITV were crap for sport, but the BBC are going the same way. Commentary during the match was a joke and jonothan davies actually sounds embarrassed when dave woods mixes up briers with maguire.

I plugged the PS3 scart into the hole where the TV scart normally goes. I made sure I was watching iPlayer through the DVD player and pressed 'record', if that makes sense. For some reason it's still taped Cbeebies so I don't know what to do now.

Try the way you did it the first time but make sure that the channel on the dvd LCD panel is on one of the AV channels where you watch things like sky through your dvd recorder, you need to get the PS3 on one of the AV channels so that your dvd recorder can record from that source.

If that doesn't work which it should, try that below.

Does your dvd recorder have an HDMI ?

If so try this, connect your PS3 via HDMI lead to the dvd recorder then connect the dvd recorder to the tv with a scart lead or an HDMI lead depending on what tele and dvd recorder you have. Switch on your psp and find the channel on your dvd recorder where the psp appears, then bring up the iplayer as normal and make sure when you record that it records from the input source which the PS3 is on which will be something like AV1, AV2 or AV3 or similar otherwise it will record from the inbuilt TV tuner like its done on your first attempt.

If you get stuck i can put the game on a disc for you but it won't be for a couple of weeks, the room where my HD box normally is has been stripped bare and re-plastered so i havn't got my main TV, DVD recorder and Sky box set up in that room.

All i did to record the match was to leave the HD box on its own in that room, the other room just has normal sky so it doesn't have a twin aerial for HD so i can't set it up in the other room yet.

If you want to see the red button footage try this, it does work but don't know how long it is stored on red buton. I did it on Sunday so probably best doing it sooner rather than later.

If you turn on to bbc1 and press red button and select sport all the sport footage over the pass few days is stored for a number of days not sure how long. Basically all the prodcasts are in a loop, you can't select a sport, so you have to sit and wait for it to come round or if you have a dvd recorder leave the telly on the red button channel over night and record it then you can just fast foward through it. That's what I did and I have now transfered it on to disk. You can't do this on sky or virgin for some reason it can't pick the signal up.

[gloat mode] My lovely wife recorded the match for me and, at the end, hit the red button for the additional footage, all recorded. Lots of player interviews, plus TS interview, lap of honour, all that gubbins. About half an hour extra. Shameful that it isn't broadcast in its entirety on the channel but as someone previously mentioned it's the RFL who made the switch. [/gloat mode]
