Posting this from my HTC desire.

It's way ahead of the iPhone and will be lightyears ahead when version 2.2 is rolled out.

Indispensable apps are 3g watchdog, shazam, barcode scanner , Google goggles, layer reality browser and an app simply called train times.

Froyo 2.2 is already out, ive had it on my Desire for about 2 weeks. You must have a branded phone thats locked to a network if you don't already have it. The official HTC 2.2 release for unbranded phones was a couple of weeks ago.

Phones locked to a network take longer as companies like Vodafone and T Mobile have to add their own cr@p like Vodafone 360 to Froyo 2.2 before they will release it.

I understand the iPhone is not everybody's ideal phone and you will always get the anti Apple brigade, but to call it shocking is one of the most silly comments I have heard on this board for a long time ( and I have heard some rubbish on here )

So you're saying froyo with HTC Sense is available now? I thought we were still stuck on 2.1 or rooted 2.2 without Sense, but then again I haven't been checking up on the latest news about the subject.

This HTC must be some phone - I thought the iPhone was good!

IPhones are simply awesome. Couldn't live without mine, and yes, I realise how sad that sounds! I think you either love or hate Apple, I'm firmly in the love camp.

Blackberry bold. Iplayer IS available on it however doesn't have flash. coming soon though.

I got rid of my Bold 9700. I liked the phone but the operating system/user interface is too out of date and Im not holding my breath on it getting the update. Screen is too small for decent web browsing.

A lot of the Apps are poor quality relative to their peers and there was plenty I wanted that were availaible on other platforms but not BB. It looked the dogs, had great battery life, a fantastic qwerty keyboard and did the basics of a smartphone brillantly but its just too far behind the others in a number of aspects.

Samsung are notoriously bad at updating their software which will be very frustrating. HTC all the way. I love my Desire.

Has anyone used/got a htc touch? It's been offered to me as a free upgrade but I am not sure as the htc desire is the one everyone is talking about.

The iPhone can be easily jailbreaked and a jailbreaked iPhone beats the htc IMO

I love my iphone. However, I hate that I love it. So I'm in both camps...

Ive downloaded the BBC Sport App from the Android Market on my X10, its really good now for Rugby League. My partner got the iPhone and has down loaded the Super League app but she prefers BBC Sport for news and uptodate scores

How good is the X10? I favour Sony Ericsson but all reviews I read of Android phones say the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S are better than the X10.

I like my Sony Ericcson W810i had it like 3 years can call and text and has never crashed..

I did have an LGW520 earlier this year but it kept crashing so returned to the classic W810i
