That's hardly the Wigan walk. Nowadays you get a handful of fans going to the exit, just like you do from every team.

The Wigan walk was really most noticeable around 1997-1999, when Wigan's great era had faded and their fans were very quick to turn their backs in frustration. Those days you used to get Wiganers streaming to the exits in droves while everybody else sang "bye bye bye bye".

Since the days when Wigan were actually crap (2005-06) their fans have been a lot more loyal.

To be fair though Warrington fans never leave early, when Cullen was here everybody was there right till the final whistle to give the team a good booooooooooooooooooooo

I would counter the Wigan walk was at its most famous slightly earlier Sally, in the early 90's at the height of their success in league & cup, any match which looked like heading in defeat lead to the early exit for thousands of cherry & white clad fans, while the sight of the fans flooding out of Central Park while the Goon were sauntering towards a comfortable victory was a common one...

Hve to agree that Wigan fans are better supporters tha in their glory days. Then, most were gloryhunters being fed by trips to Wembley, never seeing a defeat etc.

Since their team have come down to earth with a bump they seem more vociferous and loyal.

True that most teams will have fans leaving early if they are watching a crunching defeat or a runaway victory BUT until last night I had never seen fans leaving 8 minutes before full time with their team 6 points behind.

Briers drop goal was 76 minute scoreboard 23-16 still full stand 7 minutes after westwoods try.

look at the stairwells, there is a constant stream of people trying to get to the stairs, you are deluded if you think no one left early, your bitter and twisted, so stop trying to convince us. no one cares what you think!

To be fair to Wigan's Southstanders, it was the East (Mainly), & the West stands that started to empty with 10 mins to go. The 1st wave, excuse the pun, when Westwood scored (& even before he converted the try!!), and the 2nd wave after the drop goal.
