In fairness to Ganson, by the letter of the law he had to give it. The problem really is the fairness of the rule. Do you award strong defence and wipe it off or give it and increase the score line in the hope of creating a more exciting spectacle? Is there room for benefit of doubt for both depending on which would be more likely or does that leave referees open to accusations of match fixing?

Actually, Phil, almost every Saints try was a guy diving over from less than 5 yards out. The Entertainers can only score when they're marched onto their opponents tryline, which Terry was kind enough to do on many an occasion. But they still came up short, Salford played some superb rugby.

You didn't watch our matches against Leeds and Hull KR then? If you had, you wouldn't actually say that.

Almost if not all of your tries from the leeds game were scored from within the 10 meter line, its effective but hardly entertaining

Just watched the Leeds highlights again to confirm my suspicions. Yep, I was right.

I don't think Salford were outstanding. Saints allowed them to play and their defence outwide was non-existant at times. Salford's defence wasn't much better either. On a more positive note I was very impressed with Steve Sidlow, made loads of ground and some great offloads.

Tell us about it, it's the main reason Potter has never been accepted.

Quick ptb's and scoots may be boring to watch, but let's not kid ourselves, with the way the game has been reffed in this country for the past few years it has turned it in to one of the most devastating tactics you can employ if you have the speed to make it effective, most of our "last minute losses" to saints have been as a direct result of these tactics taking advantage of tired marker defenders.

Unfortunately I didn't get to watch tonight's game, no sky, but got to say I was massively surprised at the result - all I can say, is well done Salford !

With everyone backing the opposite team, what a way to hit back at them.
