| From what I've seen of him, he is in the mould of Sean Long or Shaun Edwards. His support play & pace are excellent & his passing is also top drawer. However for individual brilliance he's a different type of player to Tomkins or Eastmond. Eastmond especially is a RL freak in the style of Jason Robinson - he has everything already & the ability to become the world's best as he improves... Tomkins I see as a genuine stand-off in the style of Dave Topliss, on his day everything he does is just classy & he has the knack of having so much time on the ball.
In years to come I can see all three in the international setup - Myler & Tomkins as the halves with Eastmond at full back with time & space to cause chaos. They are three different types of player & all 3 will be very very good for years to come. What I would say about Myler at this time though is he needs a quality stand off playing alongside him to grip the game & take the pressure away from him...

You lot will have him shaking like Mathers by the end of the year. Every poor game, every mistake will be met with a "Myler - worth £200k?" thread.

| Support play similar to Danny McGuire, hes young, fast, confident and one full season getting to know the players around him is all he needs. Top little player.

Yey! Glad someone picked up on my cheap-shot at Longy's expense!
Thought it might be appreciated on a Wire forum?!

| For me it all depends on what approach Tony Smith wants to take after Lee Brier`s retires or leaves which won`t be too far away, at Leeds Tony Smith favoured pace in the half backs over organisation as i see Rob Burrow as more of a direct runner than an out and out organiser like a Sean Long, Andy Gregory or a Matt Orford, Danny McGuire is mainly all about pace.
When Lee Briers does eventually leave i would personally like to see us sign a stand off with good organisation and creativity, as an example Danny McGuire wouldn`t really compliment Richie Myler as you wouldn`t have much organisation or control in the half backs. Myler may improve that side of his game in time but currently he will need Lee Briers along side him to control games which will free up Richie Myler to do what he does best which is to support virtually anything that moves.
A modern day John Woods would compliment Richie Myler well, Myler has the pace and awareness of whats going on around him, we just need to someone to unlock defences on a more regular basis and to dictate games from the middle.

| Leeds had Sinfield which meant he could have two half backs like Maguire and Burrow. If we put Grix to 13, then we might get away with Myler and a Burrow style. Might, because I'd prefer a Lockyer style stand off.

Spot on there.
I don't know though maybe Grix''s ideal posistion is S.O.

| I'd love Chris Bridge to be that third pivot. What a smack in the eye for all those who said he was washed up.

Sinfield more often than not would switch to hooker during games (before Buderus arrived) rather than be one of the first recievers, don`t forget they have Brent Webb who comes up in attack to be the extra stand off on a fairly regular basis, Mathers tries this but its not really of the same quality.
I was going off what we have at the min squad wise and that we would have to replace Lee Briers at some point, Simon Grix is a strange one. He`s got all the talent in the world and he occasionally shows this touch of class but its not on a consistent basis, he`s certainly not a stand off, he`s very good at attacking the space on the fringes, he also has great footwork.
I think Chris Bridge should be left to one position, part of his problems in the past is he has never been allowed to settle into one position, one minute he probably thinks he has got a regular position and the next he`s moved again. I appreciate the utility side of him to cover for injuries but in the main i would like to see him have a full season in a regular position whether that be right centre or even at 13.
Personally i think we need to sign a quality 13 and a 6 when Lee Briers decides to call it a day, i won`t go into the fullback situation here as thats for another thread.
