And rightly so. A few people with a few too many short memories.
It's a gamble, Easter, it really is. Smith'll know that he has to give a few guys a rest if we want to get the results we need over in East Yorkshire, and consequently we may well take a few risks with selection.
Salford give it everything against us, especially in Good Friday games. Don't ask me why, they just do. Players like Fitzpatrick and Littler play better against Warrington than they do in all other games combined, and on a lazy Good Friday afternoon they could just surprise us with an early try or two and get us into a dogfight.
We're the better side on paper - even the Salford fans will give us that - but if we let our concentration slip next Friday even the slightest bit, we'll find ourselves looking down the barrel of a mystifying defeat. Fortunately, I think Smith is a bit more savvy than to let the players get into too much of a comfort zone or start thinking about Easter Monday before Good Friday is out of the way.

| Salford beating Hull which is good for us if they do it because they are on 10 points plus we won't be taking them as lightly as maybe we would have if Hull had turned them over.

Far be it from me to be smug, but we all just saw that Salford can still turn it on when they really fancy it.

I'd say that was a game between two poor sides.

Salford with have lots of confidence after that win, so complacency mustn't be part of our preparation otherwise we will come unstuck!

Nobody has said any different.
Forget about Salford for a second. The reason people on this thread may seem over confident in your opinion, is because how good our form has been so far this season.
I saw nothing in tonights game that knocks my confidence going into friday because I know if we play well, we'll win well.

| I agree with you RLIMR. Wire fans have lost enough games like Good Friday's not to assume it will be a win. But, if we play anything like we have in any of our matches (even the Wigan and St Helens ones), we should run out big winners. Our pack and three quarters are playing very, very well and if the half backs click, then we're going to smash someone. Of course, we might not play well and lose to Salford.

| Did Rob Parker intentionally go for Sean Long's eye ? It seemed to me he may well have due to the appearance of having a second go at it.

Dunno, but he broke something last night. You could lip read him running off, maybe his wrist.
Wakefield came on Friday, full of confidence on 10 points and looked inept. I expect Salford to look similar. As discussed, with greater composure Friday would have been a cricket score. Providing the conditions this Friday are condusive to open rugby, I expect the same.

I think Wakey suffered without Brough and without a few games post-Brough to re-arrange their attack. On paper we are miles ahead of Salford, but so were we first game of 2006 ( I think ) at home when we got stuffed by them. We are a different team to those days, but as others have said, Salford stopped Hull playing Saturday and got the win, and they will try the same against us.

Wakey looked fine without Brough against Salford and won pretty easy

Hull stopped themselves playing with poor ball retention & discipline. When they got through sets, they dominated.
Wakefield are a good side, were last week, will be next week, we simply dismissed them, from the first minute. Whilst we weren't clinical from there on, a similar or better performance from us on Friday would spell trouble for Salford.
