Well that's narrowed it down a little. From memory Greyshan played for a number of yorkshire teams, he was known to be involved a a skirmish or two, although that was quite common in 70s and 80s. Something about Greyshan that he may have been the only player to play against or with his son in a top flight game.

| I think that's the one.... My grandad used to play for widnes... So when I was young he took me to watch them... I remember featherstone coming and this guy was late into every tackle with swinging arms.... Then he got the ball and emosi koloto layed him out flat with the biggest forearm smash in the history of rugby.

jeff grayshon is the man who played until well in his 40s and he did play once against his son when Rovers played and beat the then bradford northern in the late 80s i think in a relegation battle screened on scrumdown. there was a Rovers full back called chris bibb

| Quote: safeway.1 "The problem with another Yorkshire club joining Superleague is the imbalance it would cause between Lancashire and Yorkshire clubs. At present there are seven Yorkshire clubs and a mere four Lancashire clubs(Wire is still Lancashire for me). Twice as many Yorkshire clubs wouldn't wear well around Leigh and Widnes way, both of whom have got ready made Superleague stadiums.'"
Both Wakey and Cas have been blagging the RFL for years with there grounds, i live in the middle of all 3 clubs and it as been well known locally that those 2 have no money and no hope of any new stadium. Rovers who have gone about there business quietly have the best chance and for one reason, the other 2 want the council to pay a large % for there grounds, which of course they wont, whereas Rovers with the 17 acres need no money from the council at all, in fact our scheme will create much neaded jobs. So are super league going to keep those 2 in with ramshackled grounds, no money, no prospects, or rovers with brand spanking ground and plenty of scope to keep big bucks coming in via the land. Ok our crowds are much less than theres, but they never used to be and theres no reason that shouldnt change again. The RFL will decide all i know is our position, although it may not seem to the outsider, is way, way stronger than those 2

Does this mean Fev are going to put in a franchise application for 2012?

I really enjoyed our trip to Fev last year on our way to winning the Challenge Cup..
Fev fans were really welcoming and knowledgable...But it was impressive how the club made extra efforts by allowing us into the clubhouse, and putting on extra bars and food outlets because they knew we were bringing a large travelling support.....
You don't see this sort of effort from many clubs..

Yes, unless we don't win the Northern Rail Cup or get to the Grand Final.

Is that the ghost of Brian Bevan I see weeping ?: |
|
| If Featherstone were to be admitted to Superleague one of the pre-conditions would have to be...Dump that fat waster Chris Moyles, plus, I would have the right to 4 of your magnificent tater pies on every visit.
I agree with you about Wakefield. Their *stadium* is a true dump...open on three sides to the elements. On the other hand Wheldon Road is an old traditional RL ground which I for one would be sad to see go.. At least there you are undercover and very close to the action. Plus they let you enjoy a crafty fag at the back of the stand opposite from where the players run out.

We have 'dumped' Chris Moyles and got a new sponsor in at the start of the year.

icons077e_files/5445-3661prettyflower-msnicons.jpg Parry Gordon's passes,Les Boyd's strong runs,Mike Gregory's workrate,Des Drummond's tries,Jonathan Davies' sheer genius...........oh,and Alan Rathbone's punches! All memories of the legendary venue which was Wilderspool stadium. Gone maybe,but never,ever forgotten.
