The problem is that we are talking about a tiny part of the actual site when talking about the Warrington forum and as mods we have very little juridstiction (sp).

What has been posted is correct I think we all need to be a little bit more tollerant of others oppinions and sometimes we need to be the bigger person and rise above some of the crap that gets posted and stop it de-railing threads.

There certainly do seem to be 2 camps or 2 generations or however you want to look at it on here, those that have an indepth knowledge of the game and the History of WW beyond the last 10 or so years and then there are the new comers who do sometimes get derided by the 'Older Generation' simply because they dont have the knowledge that they have but everyone has to star somewhere.

This place gives you a real snapshot of society, some people cant spell very well should they be picked up on it here I personally dont think so. Other want to talk about songs and whilst it may be repetetive if you aren't interested instead of derailing or having a jibe just ignore it and walk on by.

I think the easiest way to look at it is to treat everyone on here how you would expect to be treated and don't say anything that you wouldnt be willing to say to someones face, those few things would sort a lot of the crap out.

I will start looking at user accounts and find those using multiples and ban them but the rest of you need to do your'e bit too.

To be fair i go about as far back as the dessie, bishop, b. jackson era before that though i have to listen (which i enjoy)to the tales of bygone times.

I dont even go anywhere near that far back, 97/98 I started watching regularly though I had been to a few games with friends from school / colleage before then.

What annoys me about this forum is the posters that decide whether your posts are relevant or not, that pick up on spelling mistakes and grammar to belittle someone else, who twist things said to make another poster look small. It;s like bullying on a virtual playground.

It's no wonder others don't post on here any more.

I used to post extensively on the old forum which was attached to the club website which unfortunately was closed down. I registered with this forum but made a complete ballsup of registering and was unable to log on. I managed by setting up a new email address to re-register on here and looked forward to some heated and informed debates as in the days of yore. To my surprise I felt I had very little to say. If anybody started a thread which looked as if it could develop into something interesting it soon degenerated into childishness. Particularly annoying are the posts which are made to post a solitary smiley(cue the kids). txtspk & lwr cs only are other irritants. I will post again but only if I have something relevant to add. I'm not holding my breath waiting though.

I generally only ever come on here to discuss rugby.

I don't really post on topics such as "who's going to such a game" etc......

What irritates me is things such as the thread about the league express this week that got de-railed and eventually locked. It was a genuine thread on rugby league related to Warrington that degenerated into playground rubbish.

As Safeway pointed out another irritation is people who's only contribution to a thread is a smiley face. I was posting on the Cas board after our recent game about the Morley/Sherwin incident and a moderator was unable to post a reasoned debate so accused me of trying to get a rise.

Some really good posts on this thread, and it seems that many are of the same opinion as me.

I have no issues with people having a different opinion to me, that makes it interesting and you get good debate. I have no issues with people being new to the game and not having as much experience as others, That is great and people's varying levels of RL knowledge is a good thing and leads to different opinions as above. If we all had the same opinion this board would be even worse!

There has always been talk of the forum going downhill, and to be honest I don't think it is currently as bad as it has been in the past.
I like most on here know which threads to open by the name of the original poster or topic.

It does get on my nerves when posters start or contribute to a thread seemingly just to 'up' their post count. I have mental list of posters who when I see their names don't even bother reading what they have posted. I don't know why Saddened says he has posts deleted because what he does post often makes sense to me.

Scrap post counts and any tags that suggest post counts. I really don’t see what benefit they serve, does anyone?

The main problem with this site, is that there are a small number of posters who can't seem to discuss Rugby League matters, without letting their Primrose & Blue tinted spectacles get massively in the way of their views.

Personally, I find the beauty of this site is that you can chat about things with fans of ALL clubs, and in doing so you can usually get a pretty fair assessment of a particular argument....Unfortunately, in recent times on the Wire forum, there have been a small group of people who are seem intent on simply drowning out the sensible discussion by posting total drivel and at times some of this drivel as bordered on the aggressive.

I agree that the Wire forum is not alone in this...Each team's forums seem to contain similar characters, who all seem to believe that 'discussion' means simply being derogative about another team.

Ultimately, we all have to accept that sensible and interesting debate will involve disagreements, and at times some of these may become passionate, however, we shouldn't let these disagreements become an excuse for petty name-calling and generally dragging this forum's standards into the gutter, which is sadly where it has skirted in recent times.

I like the way this thread seems to be moving in a direction that suggests things might start to change and improve around here, especially with Geordie saying he will take a look at the multiple user accounts.. People are obviously entitled to air their opinions on a public forum , but it becomes laughable when they use thier other account to just agree with themselves, and its fairly obvious who these people are ..Its also a pity that Seb Hasn't got much time on here lately, as by the sound of his earlier post he would enjoy clearing house on here lol ..

To me it doesn't matter if you have watched wire for 30 days or thirty years, i'll talk rugby league with absolutely anyone, and there can be some fantastic discussions on here.. But lately the people who are more interested in the post counts and the my dads bigger than yours type posts are dragging the boards down... Hopefully it can return to what it used to be.
