| Was a great hit from Morley, it annoys me when fans of both teams dont appreciate good solid hits as there was some Wigan fans around me wanting a penalty, makes me laugh when some fans only see one way. Some big hits in a very intense game.

After the first two games of the season, the big hit tactic wasn't on last night, solid straightforward defence worked for us, when we started swinging for the fences thats when wigan started going through us.

Not sure. Did well though IMO. That was right infront of me that. He didn't know what day it was.

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

| Great hit, but Stu Fielden was the best prop on show last night.
Great game all round from all the players and a great contest. A draw would probably have been a fair result, there is not a better sport in the world when it is played like that. Hard, fair and fast.
That game should hopefully set the standard for the rest of Superleague this season.
I bet there are some sore bodies this morning.

| I agree with all the comments on this post. The hits were great but like a fellow postie said. Wigan won the game when we started going in for 1 on 1 big hits. Wigan kept to a 3 and 4 men in the tackle, slowing the play and controling the 20 min spell where they deserved the trys. Still got issues with erwood tho lol. Great game and proud to be a WIRE

I thought the same last night. Wigans gang tackling and control of the ruck was fantastic. It controlled what Monaghan could do at times.
As for the hit, I watched it back this morning and started laughing at Barries comments. He was loving it.
Big rap to Hansen for keeping the ball. Shows how tough Superleague players are. Even when in the clouds ball retention is everything.

| Check out Hansen at the end when they're doing the whole handshakes and "well in mate" stuff. He's on the floor, clutching his shoulder, he can't even get up to do the thing.

| Just seen that on the replay. Hansen looked like he had been hit by a truck. Whoa.

No I think you'll find it's just the one hit that was worthy of note.

Got to admit I shouted for a pen in real time until I saw the replay on the screen!!!
Great hit and fair play to Hansen for holding on to the ball whilst wondering where he was
It was a great play by both players really in the last minute of a bruising game. It summed the whole match up pretty well I thought.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| This highlights an interesting point that is being debated on another forum. The reason for Wigan winning was due to better fitness, whereas Morley having that kind of energy to make such a tackle rather contradicts it.
