I wonder what the grounds for any appeal are and what evidence the club can provide in addition to the submission this evening.
If it is strategic I guess the increase of a ban from 1 to 2 games is worth it assuming he is free to play against Wigan, and if the appeal is unsuccessful, he will miss the next 2 games against Hudds and South Wales Wrexham.

It was in the second half - Myler was involved in a tackle on a Cas player who was doing the desperate/dangerous kick-out thing to try to milk a penalty - tbh it just looked like Myler was trying to find the ground in between the extravagant kicking of the player.

Can they do that in RL, increase bans. I can't recall it happening.

I know they do it in wendyball. I would guess so as there is no, obvious, deterrent to speculative appeals otherwise.

I have no idea, but I don't think there is. I say this as, I think you'd know of it, I think it'd be reported more.
I can't find anything on Google with 'increased ban on appeal' relating to RL.

| I recall that the NRL increase bans on unsuccessful appeals, never heard of it here though. Its worth a try, he never ran in elbow raised in front of him he just used it as protection the same as Fozzard does.

Probably on the grounds that there was nothing in it ! Fozzard goes into every tackle in the same way ,it,s how he fends off and the fact he has never been cautioned or banned over it must count imo ,also the Cas player lowered his body position into the tackle which then put his head/neck in the wrong position, it's not down to Carvell if a player goes into the tackle at the wrong angle !
didn't think Moz would have got away with his !

| If my memory serves me well, Terry Newton appealed against his ban in 2005 after injuring Sean Long and I think Gilmour in [ithat[/i match with Wigan. His suspension was increased after he lost the appeal.

Appeals are always heard during the same week as the initial hearing. If they decide to appeal then Carvell's new hearing will be tonight (Wednesday) meaning that clever tactics such as that can't be used! I guess we will find out tonight. Often on Boots 'n' All they announce the result of appeals - although tonight's show is on a bit earlier so you might need to trawl the internet again later this evening.
I don't think we know for sure that he is appealing anyway.
