| X factor is far more popular than rugby league will ever be, regardless of what people think about it going downhill.

| what annoys me is the girl who lost last week will turn on the xmas lights in Warrington on thursday, she is not even z list celeb, surely a member of the towns challenge cup winning team would be better.
as for cowell, he clearly stated that none of the people in the bottom 2 would win it in his opinion so he chose the most entertaining to stay in.

| You see, I quite like the concept of it. The idea that somebody with a talent, is stuck doing a mundane job, not making the most of what they have, and this show gives them a framework to realise a dream and all that, i'm all for that. I'm no massive Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke fan but I like the fact that they were just ordinary folk who's lives have been transformed, that's brilliant.
My sort of 'problem' with the show is with the sort of judges, and all this sniping, safeguarding your acts interests and all that, that Amercian show, is it Pop Idol, I think that's better, the judges are simply that, they aren't affiliated with any act, so give better opinions & criticisms, it's all too personal for me at times and performances don't matter, judges put each others acts down regardless of how they've done as they want to manipulate the public, knock confidence and all that, they should be there to build these folk up, not knocking them down at any opportunity. Somewhere, egos have taken over for me and the sort of 'concept' of the show has been lost somewhat, though the show has probably never been bigger than it is now, like them or loathe them, those twins get more newspaper coverage than any act that I can remember, that's why they're still there.

unless we're talking about Loius Walsh with an Irish act...
(Obviously I mean in previous reality shows, before they introduced this mentor mumbo jumbo where a standing ovation is mandatory no matter how awful their act was)
So glad I'm out of the country where International broadcasting rights do not permit me to watch this tot

| Jesus Natters, you complain about the amount of crappy OT threads that appear, yet you have the gall to start one about the ******* X-Factor.
Shame on you.

Who exactly kept the twins in the competition and got rid of the boring welsh girl? It wasn't Simon Cowell!
If the judges want to defer the decision to the public vote most weeks, then do away with the judges votes and go straight to the public. They could close the voting and announce the bottom two at the start of the Sunday show. Let them sing (or prance about if they prefer) before opeing the phone lines again. Introduce the professional act(s) then announce the final result at the end of the show.
Alternatively, get an odd number of judges. Either sack one, or bring in a fifth judge. Perhaps they could introduce a special celebrity judge each week.
How long is it before the season starts again

| X Factor is all about the ratings, if Cowell can get someone who can have more than 1 hit record then it's a bonus.
The entire show, from the so called auditions to the live finals are manipulated by the producers.
I've found the best way to watch it is to Sky+ it and fast forward the singing and just watch the judges comments.

| Ps and why is everyone banging on about it being a "SINGING" competition.....???
it quite obviously is an "image" competition thats why we dont get any more big birds like Michelle Mcmanus winning it....the fat ugly people with good voices go on Britains got Talent Like Susan Boyle and Paul Potts did.

Cowell was told in the break that if he put it through to deadlock that the twins would go through, he knew exactly what he was doing
