I didn't know Parry personally but saw him play on many occasions. The way he played the game I always assumed he was a true Gentleman, a very fine player who for some reason never got the international recognition that he should have. I believe he did win a cap against PNG but stand to be corrected RIP

RIP Parry. Watched him from almost the start of his Wire career and he was my favourite player until his retirement. Fantastic acceleration, elusiveness and an ability to tackle way above his weight were just some of his many attributes as a player. A true gentleman and Wire legend; condolences to his family and friends.

Such awful news. I had the pleasure of watching Parry play throughout the 70s and up to the end of his career in the early 80s, and he was a great scrum-half. He was a gentleman too. When I was a kid I used to get the players' autographs when they arrived at Wilderspool before games, and Parry was always happy to sign and say hello. The term 'club legend' gets over-used, but it applies 100% in the case of Parry Gordon. RIP Parry, and sincere condolences to the family.

Saw Parry play against us many times at the Boulevard,He was the type of loyal player every club needs.He played in the era of proper rugby, not the sanitised version we play now.R.I.P. Parry,you were a good un.

One of my first memorys of watching the Wire was seeing him play and scamper about the field. A great loss.

Parry was a superb player for the Wire and will be sadly missed by everybody who had the good fortune to see him play for the club over a 20 year period.

Well said Dave, Agree totally. It was a pleasure to see him grace Wilderspool. He was a great player and great man. It was sad that he never got GB honours. Hopefully the club will comission a lasting tribute to this great man.

Terribly sad news. Parry was one of the finest servants Warrington Rugby League have ever had and was a smashing guy. As a kid running on the pitch for autographs and sock ties Parry was one you would always go to as he always obliged with a smile and a chat.
Fabulous player who didn't get the recognition he deserved at international level, probably because there were so many great half backs around at the time.
