| i dont understand Lee Smith being included, if we are gearing for the future, then why pick a player who will be playing for the Gargoyle at Wasps next year.
Apart from that, good on Che Smith picking form players and no being scared to pick youth instead of has beens

| I like the squad.
One or two calls I'd disagree with, but I think it's a refrshing squad. I'm happy to see Lee Smith in there too, I know that he's off to RU, but if the squad rewards performances of the last year he deserves to be in there, he was one of our better World Cup performers too.
If you've a backline that contains Hall, Smith, Shenton, Tomkins & Myler or Eastmond, then you'll carry a threat, a threat from anywhere on the field and I think to match Australia & NZ you have to have that, it looks a quicker squad than them of the past.
It was a tournament that I was pretty non-plussed about, it's certainly changed that, I think it's a vibrant squad, should be interesting to watch, see how folk go.

| The selection of Lee Smith is a disgrace.
Too many Warrington players in the squad IMO.
Why is Paul Sykes included, and Myler ahead of Rob Burrow?
I hope England do well in the 4 Nations, mainly for our coaches sake as he has certainly left himself open for criticism if things go wrong.

| Quote: Live Wired "A bit of bias in that squad me thinks. 4 players from a team that finished 10th? does'nt make sense to me.
And ffs, Eastmond is a halfback, not a centre. if we play players out of position, the Aussies will murder us.'"
Have you seen the four players, though? Would you not have picked Wayne Rooney for England when he was at Everton, just based upon Everton's league position?

A player's SL contract with a particular club tends to run until the end of November when the new club makes arrangements/starts pre-season training, so accurately Myler is still a Salford player, Burgess a Bradford one & Smith a Leeds player. Moore is a Saints player under contract to Giants for another season on loan, so you can argue that either way... HTH.
Players are allowed to change allegiance between a "developing" nation (ie Wales/Ireland/Samoa etc) & an "established" nation (England/GB, NZ, Aus) between World Cups. However once an allegiance has been set, they cannot change that until after the next World Cup, hence Bridge/Harrison are bound to England until after the 2013 comptetition. HTH too.

Fully agree with you, We have never won anything with Wellens, pryce, senior gleeson and the other players he has left out. Nothing against these players because for years they have been the best at their position, but its time we tried somethong new.
I think its good that these youngsters are given a chance and TS has shown he is willing to give people a chance instead of picking the same old same old.
