A season of stunning Wire RL - win lose or draw.

(a top 4 finish, CC Final and beating saints at KR would also be acceptable)

The Wire motto.........
Expectations end in disappointment, but hope goes on forever.

I hope for another Challenge Cup, nothing can match the sheer thrill and buzz of Wembley. Could you imagine the homecoming we experienced after a Grand Final win? I think not.

Agree with a few comments, realistically we should be aiming top 5 that's more than achieveable and realistic.

How far a team gets in challenge cup can depend on the draw sometimes, femember gettin saints away first rond last season!!!

Think the bloke sayin we were lucky in all rounds of challenge cup is a plank by the way, as was the person saying I'm a fan and don't care where we finish, of course you do! It doesn't make u a glory fan to want to see your team do well.

I'll take top 5 and to finally beat saints in one game!

We will have a top notch squad next year and Smith will have a pre season with the players so no excuses next year we must have a clean sweep !'"

I agree with that. People who say they are not bothered are deluding themselves or are simply used to the last 20 years of, on the whole, poor showings in league and cup.

Personally I want us to challenge for the league and GF. A cup run would be an added bonus. Anything outside of the top 4 will be very disappointing

Just to show more consistency in the league and to build on what we achieved this year , touch wood the players will be hungry for more finals and silverware after experiencing wembley and the homecoming.

Sorting out our defence will go along way to achieving the above along with being quicker around the markers, quicker play of the balls to catch teams on the back foot.

I`ll be happy if we make the top 5 and a major final (touch wood a trophy as well) as that should be a realistic target next season especially with a much stronger squad along with having a recognised scrum half.

I said I wasnt bothered.
I'm not deluding myself at all I fecking love Rugby League and Love Watching Warringtons brand of Rugby League ...If I wanted to watch a team of $hit oozes lift trophies I'd support Saints

and yes we havent won many prizes but I wouldnt swap watching Alfie Langer over watching a team that had Bobby Goulding and Tommy Martyn in it winning trophies.....

I wouldnt swap that night in 1994 over lifting a league leaders shield to go and toss the big prize away in a final.

only wigan Fans count trophies the rest of us actually remember the Rugby

Top four in the league would be a good place to target, but the real improvement we need is to be able to take on sides like Leeds and Saints and beat them.

Getting close and losing every time isn't really getting close, if there's a pattern of defeats.

We won the Challenge Cup this year courtesy of a kind draw, which isn't to say beating Hull KR, Wigan or Hudds was easy, all three of those sides finished above us and none of those games were at the HJ. However if we are to retain the Cup, which is our best chance of winning a trophy again in the near future, we will need to be ready to beat at least one of Leeds or Saints when it counts.

Ironically whilst everybody talks about consistency being our biggest problem over the past few years, what will make a big impact for us is being able to beat top sides when it counts, we beat good sides when it counts this year in the Challenge Cup and it got us a trophy - being able to beat a top team on a one off when it counts either in the CC or the playoffs is what will see us make headway towards the playoffs.

Under coaches like Van de Velde and Cullen, we used to regularly beat top teams (apart from Saints) but it was never in a big pressure cooker game when it counted, apart from when we won at Headingley in 2006.

My biggest hope for us next season is for us to beat a top team in the Challenge Cup. If we put out Leeds or Saints in one of the rounds en route to the final, it will open up the draw and put us in a good position to defend it. If we defended the Challenge Cup it would be a legendary achievement.

If honours and success aren't important to you then that's totally your own prerogative, of course. If someone else wants Wire to win things that doesn't mean they are infected with "cockitis" nor does it mean they are akin to Wigan or Saints fans. It's the standard mindset of every supporter of every team in every sport.

I note from your avatar that you choose an image of Mr Morley with Warrington's latest success. Are you sure you're not bothered about success or deluded in any way?

flying biscuit you're getting carried away, I could understand if we were the great entertainers of rugby league who played with style and lost a la Kevin Keegans Newcastle but over the years we have been error prone and frustrating to watch with the odd bit of flair to keep us going. I'd have taken Tommy Martyn at Wire any day of the week and I'd also have far rather had a backline with guys like Lyon, Gidley, Sullivan and Albert in it.

Id have traded any of them or any of the players we've ever had for the chance to have Hanley, Bell, Edwards and Offiah in primrose and blue.
