Agreed, it would be very unlikely that the Pies would sign Clarke.

| Quote: JWP "We'd know if Clarke was leaving I reckon.
I can't see Smith kind of 'disrespecting him' almost, by not letting him have his moment this weekend. If Clarke was to go, after almost a decade of service, he'd deserve his moment, not being ushered quietly out of the back door.
Aside from this, he's got a contract, Smith rates him highly, he offers versatility and is a big, professional presence within the squad, he has all the hallmarks of an individual that Smith likes with how he lives his life, how he conducts himself etc, so he'll be staying.'"
Wow didn't have you down as a big Clarke fan
Although saying that you still rate Penny

| He would free up a considerable amount of salary cap restraint which I think will be something that Warrington will be almost certainly endeavoring to do!

Where have I rated him ? (Clarke)
FWIW, I do sort of rate him. I know what he is, so don't hammer him for what he isn't, folk in life all have limited ability in some respects. He can't do what Monas can do from nine, so, he should focus on what John Clarke can do from nine.

Yeah like throw unplayable passes out to his colleagues
To be fair I agree that he now has a more professional approach to the game than a few years back. This degree that he has worked hard for seems to have done him the world of good. Maybe his future lies elsewhere within RL.

| I could see Clarke leaving TBH. I like him for his versatility and he makes an excellent bench player. However, if the bench is going to be made up of two props and Higham, then I would prefer either Grix or Bridge (dependng on how TS accomodates Atkins) as the fourth interchange. I don't think Clarke would get a starting place in the second row or loose, so would he be happy waiting in the reserves for injuries to other players?

I genuinely feel we miss him for his organisation when he isn't there, and feel his experience may be valuable during the next couple of years, even if this is coming off the bench at times to cover for some positions.
In terms of unplayable passes, our other two hookers are just as guilty IMO, and they don't have the versatility that Clarke does.

| Clarke is too slow around the play of the ball. No wonder defences are on us like lightening

| Its not inconceivable that players may WANT to leave us now too - in contract or not.
Clarke will have seen Monas ripping it up at 9 and Higham is probably ahead of him in the back up stakes. Utility is a great attribute, but its also as much an issue.
Bridge, ditto with the signings of Myler and now, inparticular Atkins.
