Tim Smith is no great loss as Wigan play better RL when Leuluai, Tomkins and McIlorum are on the pitch together, McIlorum is a big loss as he has been in good form where as the pig isn`t doing a great deal.

Yup, them 3 especially are key to Wigan i feel. Al be surprised if Pig does an 80 minutes stint in the middle of the field, maybe lulu will go to 9 during the game and someone will partner Tomkins in the halves. Lulu and Tomkins is their best half-back pairing by miles.

We'll have to play with what we've got and believe.
There's still a lot of good players available.
According to many on here O'Loughlin, Smith and Hock were cr@p anyway, and Micky Mac wasn't fit to play on the same field as Higham.
We'll give it a shot don't worry.

| It's easy to scoff today. There is a month to go and we could suffer the exact same fate ourselves.
I'll never understand people celebrating injuries to players.

Which was my point about people starting the threads about Cunninghan and Long being injured where quite a few of our fans were obviously celebrating Saints having injured players to increase our chances of beating them.
As a paying fan you want to see the best players on the pitch and the best possible match, if you lose then you have obviously not been good enough.

As a Wire fan, I couldn;t care less who the opposition has on their team. They could play an Academy team for all I care.
We have lost plenty of games where we have had plenty of injuries and nobody takes anything away from the opposition.
I want to see Wire at Wembley again. I don;t really care how we get there.
I do agree with the comments about people being happy about injuries though, mainly because I think it is in bad taste.

I THINK YOU'D BETTER READ MY THREAD FIRST, BEFORE YOU CRITICISE!
i started the cunningham thread and wrote that it was bad news for saints and good news for us, not once did i celebrate his injury! however it is logical to re evaluate our chances in light of strategic losses in oposition teams prior to a big match.
schadenfreude is a natural human behavioural response at times and people need to stop being holier than tho'

Seeing as you started a thread to point out to people that Kieron Cunningham would be out injured against us and then you went on to use the words "and good news for us" then that looks fairly obvious to me what your happy about.
You obviously thought that Cunningham being missing through injury was a good for our chances against saints as you said in your own words "and good news for us", that to me is celebrating a player being unable to play against us because of injury given your choice of words.
I`m not saying you normally celebrate players being injured as genuine fans don`t and i`m sure your a genuine fan, its just your wording made it look that way given you were talking about an injured player.

read what i said, i pointed out he was injured, which is advantagious to us ie, good news".. not once did i state i was pleased that he had been injured, i have nothing but repect for professional RL players, and would not wish an injury on any of them!
that was the point i was making and you obviously missed!
i walk at times with a pronounced limp c/o playing rugby at prop forward for 17 years, so empathy comes into play rather than delight!
