| Although drinks in the ground were expensive most pubs and clubs were quite reasonable, especially the happy hour deal of 1 Euro a bottle until the bar ran out of Bud, Forsters, San Mig, E.K Damm and every other drink known to man including buckets of ice and glasses .

| To be honest, I'd heard all sorts of stories about beer being up to £8 a pint, yet tbh, on average it was around £4, which is expensive but pretty standard in big cities.
The most we paid was £6 for a pint of warm Guinness.

| The bar at the top of la ramblas in placa catalunya was £3 for a pint of san miguel which considering the location was a decent price. A great atmosphere as well with both wire and catalans in and outside.

| On the whole I thought beer prices in the city were a little below what I was expecting - not saying they were cheap, or even reasonable for that matter, but still less than the rumoured prices I'd heard.
We found some excellent bars in the little streets and squares of the old town, and the El Born area.
The first time we hit the Ramblas was 3am on Saturday morning, and I had to fend off a pack of prostitutes who were obvioulsy out to nick my wallet - one of them trying with her all might to pull my hand out of the pocket that contained my wallet whilst her mates were busy distracting me and checking out my other pockets.
That said we had a brilliant time, and would definitely go back, especially if Wire were to play there again.

| I always find it better value to buy a bottle of wine when in a bar in Spain (or France come to that).

Was a bit steep in the ground I admit. But then again 5 euros for a ticket takes the edge off.
1 ticket, 2 pints, 19 euro (£17). Bit cheaper than the same in the south stand.
