| Quote: gogreen "I have watched the reserves and academy for some years. We have the talent there. We have a great prospect halfback in O'Brien, great kicking game and vision at the line. Hurst has been superb at fullback and Rhys Williams has impressed on the wing and there are many more. The U18's too have some great players that could feature in the future. My only worry would be the boo boo fans, who can not see the long term picture. Investment in these youngsters and support and encouragement would pay. There are no quick fixes. The other benefit is that alot of these players are warrington born and bred and would most definitely wear the shirt with pride and not for the money as some seem to do now. We have talent across the board, second rowers, halfback, fullback and centres. If you mixed this blend of new and exciting talent with all thier enthuisiuam with the seasoned experienced player I feel you would have something worth watching, even if the results took time to come.'"
Hurst is a centre.

| Keep faith with the youngsters and give them a chance defintley nothing for you to loose now. We did it when we were getting hammered and they gave a good showing of themself's and now they are coming good i.e Adamson 21, Myler 18, Turner 20, Ratchford 20, Walton 18 , Thornley 20 and Sidlow 21 all played or are playing regular 1st team rugby this year

| sorry you are right Hurst is a centre and quite right he is a great one. I meant to say Murphy at fullback, he also is a great prospect. Give them a run out I say and they will benefit for the experience.

| As I say, trust in those in charge - past records show they know what they are doing. And as others have said, we already have our best youngsters in the squad and we are still not winning. The step up from reserves to SL is pretty big, so needs to be handled carefully.

| Clearly its one of those situations that needs perfect timing - or injury crisis of course. Penny provides the perfect example of not rushing a young lad too quickly so to speak. After a great start he began to show his lack of experience and as usual our fans showed no patience in letting him grow in experience. Mistakes will come with the young uns due to lack of SL match play. That said our 'experienced' guys didn't do that much better.
I agree with those of you who suggest Smith and co know when to bite the bullet and give a young lad a go. At the moment the ones who have earned that trust are indeed playing - as mentionned.
This is why I did clap at the end of Monday's game. I clapped Harrison for his continuous hard work and support play, I clapped Blythe who found a few gaps. I also clapped the likes of Westwood who as usual ran his blood to water.
If I were involved with the training of the youth lot I wouldn't pick them at the mo. The booing is enough to put any young kid off the game full stop. Even our seasoned players don't have that hard a skin.

Invariably youngsters are introduced when a team is in a rich vein of form, it enables the senior players to carry them through without too much pressure. Putting them in at the minute would drain them of confidence almost immedialtely. An experienced player like King had his confidence shot to pieces, what would a youngster's be like?

| look back through the successful teams during the super league era and you will find good imports, solid, experienced top tier english players and a sprinkling of talented youngsters.
every thread is saying don't do this, don't sign these,we need that not this.
tony smith knows what he needs to win honours, the staff he has around him will help develop what talent we have here, tony smith will move on what he regards as surplus and simon moran will do his utmost to bring in what players his coach thinks fit the bill.
it will not happen overnight but it will happen, lets just support our team through this tough but transitional period.
