| Clearly we have a lot of problems and I no longer think Price is the man to take us forward. He seems in denial. What started as "quick fixes" and "speedbumps" is now a horrendous losing streak and a team that looks like it doesn't want to play for him.

| Quote: Lord Tony Smith "Steve Price needs to wake up. His post match interview was alarming. What do we work on everyday in training? Five drives and a kick up up to Toby King on a every play is tiresome and boring. Where are the plays we should be working on throughout the week in training?'"
My thoughts exactly, our attacks is virtually nonexistent. It was embarrassing that fact that when they was down to 12 men we didn’t exploit it once... Shambles.
It’s so telegraphed with ball in hand it’s boring to watch, there’s no creativity or flamboyance. Do they have Toby King practicing on a spring board at training? Is there something I’m missing here, yes he’s quite good at catching the ball in the air but it’s overkill now..5th tackle lets kick it high to T.King again, again and again it’s every end to a set now. You can see it a mile off & we don’t have a plan B...
Holbrook will be rubbing his hands next week.. ‘Hey Percival Your On Bomb Catching This Week Mate’

It's almost like he's won a competition to play for us. There's lads playing amateur rugby on a Sunday morning who would offer more. He can't even do the basics.

Wire as much as we were poor were also more than a match in the pack, without revealing any expansive prowess....purpose or not fit for purpose...who knows? And that's the thing. You don't know.'"
With due apologies to all you other Wire fans as I don't want to hijack your thread but Duckie, you're saying your pack matched one missing Flower, Bullock and O'Loughlin and with a Greenwood returning from a long lay off. Factor in the fact that we're already 2 props down anyway, are you seriously trying to present that as some kind of positive? If you're looking at the situation rationally the real positive is that the Wigan pack managed to match yours with a bunch of (admittedly outstanding looking) kids.
Seriously, if you're looking for positives from last night for your side you only need to write one word : Philbin.

| Has our attack ever been as poor? Even in our direst times we've always offered more of an attacking threat than at present.

| It was very much a "drop the ball & hope one of your own team picks it up " type of game . Smith's kicks would have been better directed to the in goal area rather than 15 yards short. One thing,we certainly didn't give Holbrook anything to worry about.
Amazingly though, with a proper game plan, some application & a dose of enthusiasm among the players ,we could win at Wembley & still end up playing Wigan at Old Trafford. Handling & passing practice needs polishing up & supporting the ball carrier needs working on.

| I'm willing to cut Matty Smith some slack. He's been here 2 weeks, hasn't played for almost a year and he's expected to come in and partner a below average 'halfback' and direct us around the field..

Hi Duckie
As you made a point of infesting the Wigan forum earlier in the year when things weren’t going as well (which now seems to have stopped, funnily enough) I thought I’d return the favour.
When you say “won’t be the first time you’ve said you bow down to my judgement”, does that include when you said Wigan would rely on Warrington to help us avoid relegation. The same team who are now only separated by points difference. And I don’t need to tell you that one team are only getting better why you men look to be in free fall.
Now that I’ve partially made up for about two months of trolling on the Wigan thread. I actually hope you win at the weekend to shut up those on the Saints fan who say it will be a “walk in the park”.

| I haven’t read this thread because I’m low enough as it is. When were we last so consistently clueless in attack? Was Smith brought in to try and make Patton look good? How could a team look so disinterested as ours did in that run up to half time knowing there are places up for grabs?
Answers on a postcard to Mr S Price @HJ Stadium.
Ps Mr Price in the pre match interview indicating our best chance was if it was raining (even if in jest [which it didn’t come across as]) is dispiriting to say the least.

Last season and at the start of this season he was begging for a ‘dry track’ and informing us all that we would then see the best of us. Now he’s after rain and poor conditions. Just about sums us up, our lack of progress, lack of ideas and where we’re currently at.

No apology needed mate i completely agree with everything you are saying. Our pack needs changing badly, We're not good enough and won't win anything this year. I'm just looking forward to next year with Widdop, a decent centre and 2 new solid Props. This year with this team and form we won't win anything and will just fall short again.
