Holbrook picked Coote despite being underprepared and potentially not ready for the game. I hope Holbrook is being held to the same standard as the RFL given the blatantly appalling decision making displayed by Coote which may have ultimately cost St Helens the competition. Especially after replacing the man of the match in the latest league fixture that Saints won at a canter.
If he’s asking for accountability of selection, look closer to home.

...But with more jobseekers.'"
A perfect analogy
It's now set in Thatto Heath (they still point, and say "fire, bad", there)
From the Jobseekers, Pauline could be played by Eammon. A nasty, vindictive person, with an obsession of Warrington, instead of pens. Pauline's dumb stooge Mickey, could by LMS, and Ross, the goody two shoes, could be Roby
The speccies could be thousands of Edwards and Tubbs, pointing, shouting "they're not from our town. Are you local?"
... and you've got that scene with Geoff, Mike and Brian trying to bury a body.... "Wolves did it"

| It would be interesting to get the referees' controller and saints supporting Steve Ganson's view on the Mcmanus comments.
Surely he would have been well aware of the meeting between Hicks, Warrington and the fan and no doubt would have welcomed it.

| There’s a thread on TRL with a mention of Walmsley paying the ball incorrectly prior to the no-try call.
Watching the match back you can see he doesn’t get up before he plays it so should have been a Warrington penalty.

| To call the resolution of the death threat a publicity stunt is beyond words. We all shout at the ref but it’s easy to forget they’re people and that must have been genuinely frightening for his family.
Did anybody else spot Richard Silverwood on facebook criticising Hicks, saying a good ref takes the stick without complaining?
Im not sure about the Knowles try. You can’t see his hand on top of the ball, so the video footage we have is inconclusive. I get why Daints fans are frustrated but I also think that a champion team has to be good enough to win with luck against them.

| If there is such a thing as "referee lean" uncle Eamon has just ensured that the lean if its there, is one way! He is a very silly man.

Quite. It's a real shame this happened and detracted from the true stories of the day, namely Warrington's performance and Saints continued inability to play well in big games. We certainly aren't a champion team, just a consistently good one.
But anyone who believes the reaction to Hicks' error is unique to Saints are wrong. You lot find it hilarious as it happened to us, so does the rest of the league, but almost every fan would be severely annoyed if that went against them in a final. You aren't telling me you'd be fine with it if Philbin gets to one at OT and it's smugly waved away by Thaler and Wigan go on to win the GF. People over react, it's passion, it's the reason we watch sport because of the emotions it stirs, it's what sports fans do.

| We got shafted when ratchford got taken out by a cannonball at OT and when tomkins avoided a card last year. Id have been truly embarrassed if our club and particularly chairman had reacted by putting a message out about refereeing decisions. Absolutely classless.
That try is inconclusive I have yet to see a replay that shows a definite try, the officials do referee finals differently, slower PTBs, more goes unpunished etc and it sucks because it makes for a more boring spectacle but the teams who have learnt to adapt to that are the most successful ones and that's Wigan and Leeds.
Aparently every shop in St Helens is out of sour grapes after a huge unseasonable demand leading to the panic buying of them in huge quantities. Mcmanus must have stocked up for such an occasion as he seems to have plenty.

There you go again...
Start with a half nicey to soften the same trait. I'd prefer it if you just remove the first paragraph and post what you think and really want to say.
Struth, I hope Saints get to the Grand final now instead of Wigan so Wire can have you all screaming and crying until we back up again next season.

Of course you'd be disappointed if it happened to your own team and you'd call the ref all the names under the sun and cry about it over a pint! Its happened for eternity! That's life!
Would you expect the hierarchy of your club to try and humiliate the ref the RL and the opposition and accuse them of bias...of course you wouldn't
Nobody found it hilarious until you spat out your dummy revealed your class as a club and saw your chairman spewing venom!!
Like it or not it's a shadow that will stick for a long while and a perfect tool for the opposition fans to rip you and remind you at regular intervals!!

| No one likes losing but I can't help feeling that the level of disappointment is due to the fact that they were overwhelming favourites and so feel that they have been robbed of their birthright.
