He was made Captain by Price.
We all know that Hill should never have been appointed captain. He’s doing his best which was never going to be good enough, it’s way too much of a stretch for him.

| Best thing for Hill would be to appoint a new captain and also bring in some more firepower alongside him in the pack. All these shenanigans he gets himself involved in are coming out of frustration. He probably feels the same way as the fans do with the frustration building in him over the years of Grand Final losses and so he's got the same bad temper on the field that lots of fans have on the terraces.
He would probably be a cooler head if he had the attitude of meh, I get paid win or lose so who cares....but I'd rather he had the fire in him for wanting to win. Whilst I think he's not the player he was at his peak (I thought he was even better than Sam Burgess in the 2013 world cup), he's not the reason for our problems so if we put some more around him, took the captaincy off him, he would still be a force.

Agree, just let him be a prop and he would be more effective

| I agree but does Chris Hill strike you as someone who would take it well if you took the captaincy off him? Unrecognisable from the player who was, IMO, the best player on the field in the last WC final.

| Well, I think we've come full circle and are back where we were on a rainy night in Huddersfield when we succumbed to a ragged Giants team at the start of Price's tenure.
That game became a catalyst and the team went on a long unbeaten run that not only saved Price but had many, me included, retracting previous mutterings of impending doom.
Would another such run restore Price's reputation? I'm not sure it would; the style of play, the post match banalities, the woeful transfer record, sterile team selection and the wholesale collapse of form in the last twelve months make him damaged goods.
That said, I'd agree the malaise goes further. We are currently donkeys led by donkeys, and our so called playmakers are passing the baton of responsibility to each other with a glance at the pay cheque and a shrug and their paymasters are collectively fiddling whilst the HJ burns.

| Price out and a massive clearout needed. The squad is totally unbalanced.
Up to our knees in back rowers and no muscle in the front row. Been crying out for two big bench props now for two seasons and we sign a kid from wigan whos rated by no one and an NRL reject whos managed to play 8 games in two years. If that's all we can get then fine but we're still short in that department and we're not even playing them!!!
We're getting mullered by Wakey and Toronto down the middle and Luther effing Burrell is still coming off the bench at Leeds. Absolute joke of a club.

| But who would you have take over from Price? Demetriou always gets mentioned, Flanagan would be nice, Is Henderson well thought of to be given a chance, is Richard Marshall to much of a Saint to be considered??

| Those suggesting Flanagan after criticising the boring style of play should be careful what they wish for. Cronulla were awful to watch under him, lived to wrestle and kick penalties.
Don’t get me wrong, it was successful, but dire.

Marshall was a coach at Wire before Saints so I can't see that being an issue.
Throw a blank cheque book at Wayne.

Agreed. Tony Smith was England coach at the time he took over at the Wire so it can be done.
If there is one man who can sort out any prima donna players, any dysfunctional backroom or any interference from outside or above then he is the man. A proven winner and you can be sure the players will be giving their all.

Unlike Price who just looked glum in the box. Imagine if you were looking for some inspiration as a player and looked up to see Price sulking. Hopeless

I hear wane mentioned all the time but I hear no reasoning other than he got the Wigan team playing with pride passion and they would run through walls for him. We all acknowledge that Wigan whilst successful were not good to watch.
I think a large part if wanes success at Wigan was down to the fact he started with their youth sett up and progressed through to first team coach. He had his style n ethos embedded at every level they were playing at. He had coached some of the players fir years em before they made the first team. Not to mention his status as a part player etc. I jyst don't see him being able to replicate that here with us.
