Wouldn't bother. Book Vaughan and his family 10 nights in Tenerife (he's earned it), take the gallant loss on Thursday night and come back in May with a refreshed pack.

| Quote: Mr Snoodle "I don't get the disciplinary; how can Vaughan & Charnley get charged for the same offence, but Vaughan gets a ban & Charnley gets a fine? Am I missing something?'"
Apparently the Ban was because Vaughan had committed the same offence in the NRL.

| In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter losing to Saints because all our props are out. We have points in the bag and the important games are in the play offs, not mid season.

Luke Thomas isn't injured, he played in the Reserves at the weekend.

Who knew that was even a thing?? Are the MRP that anal that they go through every single offence the player has ever committed? They'll be banning players coz their dad once swore at a ref in an under 9's game next!
It's getting beyond ridiculous.......BUT..... as long as they are consistent

| What seems ridiculous with the MRP is that every player cited on the MRP call sheet could/should have been put on report/sent to the bin for 10 mins or sent off.
There were 43 incidents looked at in the last MRP, and 19 players determined to have done something wrong (whether fined, cautioned, banned or no further action).
So that feels either that the officials aren't doing their onfield job correctly, or worse being told to overlook 50/50 calls as the MRP will pick it up - but worse by not taking actions it's affecting the game result or subsequent results due to players staying on pitch on when they shouldn't, banning people retrospectively, or trying to do the right thing (in terms of player welfare) but not addressing the situation in a timely manner.
It's like MRP is being used to stop the game running into a potential situation where its 12 vs 10, (if players were dismissed/sin binned at the time) but it's all okay as they might miss a future game instead.

| I'm a Saints fan and just watched the footage of the tackle Vaughan has got banned for, if that's a ban then we may as well stop playing tackle rugby. The whole disciplinary and mrp are not fit for purpose and just seem to be making it up as they go along.

When you consider KPP didn't even get cited for his very naughty tackle on Clark you've really just got to wonder what on earth they are looking at?
There is no conspiracy just rank incompetence.

Warrington aren't appealing the ban.

| If I was a cynic I would say that with some clubs having paper thin squads the RFL decided to introduce fines so that sanctioned players would still be available to play for their team the following week. Obviously that's not the case as a £250 fine is a brutal penalty to pay when you only earn £50 k a year, even if they make some of it back from their appearance money.

| Good evening Warrington. The above thread was exhausting to read through.
Bongser has merely one question: all these £250 fines - where does all that money go? Again merely an ingenuous question, no inference or prejudice. Curious, that's all.

Evening B&B, It used to go to fatboy Nigel Wood to replenish his biscuit stash. Not sure where it goes now.

I wonder, given the quantity of £250 fines they dish out, whether it's just a self sustaining exercise - they create the MRP then make its running cost neutral by the fine money they bring in.......

The following was on the Yorkshire Live website...
Initially, the money received from fines is used to cover the costs of the tribunals that take place throughout the season.
After those costs are covered, the money is used to fund many other projects. As an example, the RFL's 'Enjoy the Game' campaign last year introduced Ref Cams across the community game, which were funded by fine money generated during the 2022 season. The Ref Cams were implemented to improve player and fan behaviour and act as a deterrent to match official abuse.
Beyond that, the money has been used to provide education to people within the community game. One example of this is Minds Matter, a mental health charity that has produced parent workshops which demonstrate the impact their behaviour on the touchline has on their children. Using the fine money, these workshops are available at no cost to those who wish to attend.
Finally, the fine money is also used to make a donation to Rugby League Cares, a charity that has done great work for countless people within the game and is an important part of player welfare across the sport.
