So why were the draconian penalties introduced for 2024 (to protect brain injury) and now they have rowed back from it? The RFL are all over the place with the policy. |

I believe head contacts reduced significantly last season, maybe there is a thought that the ‘medicine has been taken’ and things are back under control. I’d imagine if numbers start creeping back up we will see a return.

One game suspension for Ipape's assault on Fitzgibbon. Not enough for that "tackle".
Ipape was given a Grade C which = 5pts under the new disciplinary system, and that doesn't constitute a ban. Ipape's total disciplinary pts this season = 7.5pts hence the one match ban for accruing between 6-8 pts. |
