| Quote: easyWire "He's good enough to consistently get a centre spot in the NRL, which is no mean feat, but he wouldn't really improve us as the strike centre we need.
When he was over here he spent most of his time indulging the cafe culture in Stockton Heath with Ben Pomeroy. I wonder if he's actually ever been to Hull? Maybe all the KR players live out of town in Beverley village, otherwise he's in for a culture shock.'"
I know it’s a matter of opinion but I find this statement hard to understand. I’ll be honest, I’ve not followed him in NRL.
This guy scored 11 tries in 10 starts or vice versa when he played over here. He was also picked as centre for a decent New Zealand World Cup team and scored when I watched them at HJ 4 years later. I personally wouldn’t drop Ratchford for his goal kicking alone but Ratch, P Mat, Greg Min and Conor Wrench probably won’t score more between them all season.

| Once a player starts demanding 'guarantees' that's the time to walk away. Pleased that we pulled his offer.
Plenty more fish...

| Yeah it would have been a nice addition, but not the end of the world.
He's said he's looking to play fullback at KR so with Dufty and Thewlis at fullback he's not needed.
Will be interesting to see if we have signed a centre already as someone stated, and who it is.
I assume we're waiting to see who gets relegated to make forward signing, if wakefield go down i think we're aiming for Tanginoa as spoken about on here already, but if castleford get relegated i'd happily take George Lawler. He's a big solid consistant forward who can also play at 2nd row as well, and will only be 28 next year so in his prime as a forward

| I see they've also been sniffing around Tyler Dupree who has reportedly asked to leave Salford. Who's got the big cheque book at Hull KR?!?

Thanks for your kind words. No wonder people don't like Wire.

I'm sure that there are plenty of other, better reasons why folk dislike Wire, but agree that there really was no need to have a pop at Hull, as there's good and bad in most northern towns/cities and that goes for Warrngton.

It was meant as a light hearted quip, as I'm fully aware that most Northern towns are holes - there's a reason we tend to keep our overseas players from certain areas of the town...
The point was that Hiku has previously struggled to settle in England, so it will be interesting to see if he sees out a full 3 years on Humberside.

| Was Hiku genuinely homesick, or was it just a convenient bit of face saving as he was offered an NRL contract and he had a get out clause?

I'm sure it'll be a lot easier to settle when you're earning marquee money.

Hiku wasn`t homesick, it was his girlfriend who was supposed to follow him to the UK, then couldn`t face the move when it came to the crunch and begged him to return Down Under.
Not sure if they are still together or not?
If they are and she still has a problem with moving to England, then it`s Hull KR`s problem now.

Without dragging it out I'm generally fine with light hearted quips but messages on t'internet even with a laughing emoji can be difficult tor read
